The beginning of the end for Tanny

Great draft picks the last few years. Lets revisit.

2008:
1st Round- Gholston-One of biggest busts in NFL history,
1st Round- Keller- Average starting Tight end
4th Round- Lowery- No longer on team
5th Round- Ainge- Out of NFL
6th Round- Henry- Out of NFL
7th Round- Garner- Out of NFL

2009:
1st round- Sanchez- Average at best Starting QB
3rd Round- Greene- Average at best back up running back
6th Round- Slauson- Average starting OL

2010:
1st Round- Wilson- Below average nickel corner
2nd Round- Ducasse- Waste of Space
4th Round- Mcknight- Very good KO return, not good at anything else
5th Round- Conner- Below average FB

2011:
1st Round- Wilkerson- Average at best starting DE
2nd Round- Ellis- Barely plays but has shown flashes
4th Round- Powell- Capable of being average backup RB
5th Round- Kerley- Rarely gets separation but shown potential to be #3 WR
6th Round- Schlauderaff- Ever played?
7th Round- Mcelroy- Shown potential to be average backup QB
7th round- Mcknight- Ever played?

Good thing we didnt even attempt to get Brandon Lloyd. Or be caught with our pants down with Hunter going in the season and then settling for an undrafted player who is okay in pass protection but cant run block.

I think its an overly optimistic view to think we are shot this season. We may be shot for longer than that. Not set up for future at all and our best offensive player and defensive player coming off serious knee injuries.

This is the most appropriate time to say that the sky IS FALLING.

Three first round picks in a row named Gholston-Sanchez-Wilson. Ouch.

To be fair, Wilson was fantastic today. He caused three long in completions because he was only one to two steps behind the receiver, followed by great trash talking.

I've always said the guy wasn't a good CB. Not sure what other people were watching to think the guy was any good.

Way to early to call him a bust. Made a couple of nice plays today.

Yes. Coples is fine. A lot of beast potential. The way he grabbed Gore behind the LOS and slammed him down was impressive.

But, Gholston-Sanchez-Wilson is going to cost Tannenbaum.

You're assuming Woody is paying attention.

If I see another post calling Wilkerson average or below average I may lose my mind. Wilkerson is a very solid 3-4 DE, but since he doesn't get 10 sacks a year, so people don't acknowledge him.

The Big Question is "will Woody fire Tanny?"

Great post, OP. It's the sad truth that Mike Tannenbaum has compiled a bottom tier NFL roster. I'd like to see him and Sanchez gone. Rex, maybe.

Tanny is an accountant with a GM job. He wouldn't know a talented football player if one tackled him.

This thread needs the gif of Tanny falling over backwards trying to catch the ball. Fishhooked?

Tannenbaum had a very good start to his career as GM, but the operation has fallen flat on its face in recent years. The current level of talent on the roster is unacceptable.

Wilkerson has been a stud this year, Coples looks pretty good and so does Ellis. BUT that does not make up for the mess Tanny has put together from previous drafts... what a mess. Just wanted to stick up for those guys. I think they are playing well.
