That team turned it around, and this one may very well indeed as the schedule is weak... but wow they def didn't inspire any positivity about it on sunday. |

Did you really expect the Jets to beat these teams with the talent we have on our roster. I know you're going to say that's the point, upper management should be doing something to upgrade the talent on the team. I totally agree, but 4 games into the season is a little late to be upgrading your roster. I think we all knew going into this season the Jets are not an upper echelon franchise, and by the look of things might not be for a while if they don't do something at the qb position.

The Jets played like crap against the Dolphins and should have lost...Yes, I know they won and per Parcells "you are what your record says you are"....But this team is trending downward.. |

This reminds me of a story one of my uncles used to tell me when I was a kid:
When he was in middle school, the high school kids used to come down their school and beat them up every day. So one day, they pleaded to one of the high school kids that they've gotten their a$$es kicked enough and they couldn't take it anymore. The high school kid then told my uncle and his friends that all they had to do was make it through middle school and high school would be different. So when they finally made it to high school, the high school kid they pleaded to was the first to meet them outside in the parking lot the first day of school. He said, "congrats guys, you've made it, now we don't have to wait until the end of the day and go to your school to kick your @$$es, we can do it all day long now that you're in high school with us." Moral of the story: Jets fans are my uncle and his friends, and the high school kids represent reality.

Also, I mean really is this supposed to cheer us up? We can beat the lousy teams but should be ok when we lose to good teams, because it should be expected. It's also not just the loss but the way we lost. If we had a nail bitter and just caught a bad break I don't think people would be as upset. However, the loss screams of systematic failures throughout the team, not just a next week adjustment. I could only imagine if I paid for PSL tickets... I'd be ****ing pissed right now. You can pay for a year in college for the price that some people paid to see that piss poor performance. |

We simply don't have the bullets in the gun to realistically contend for a playoff spot. I just don't see it. Sure, could the Jets luck into a Wildcard or something?...of course, but this team, from top to bottom, simply is not the caliber of what the Jets have fielded in the past several years. There is NO speed or playmaking ability on offense. Holmes is hurt, Keller has been hurt, Greene and Powell are quality backup RBs for an NFL team and not starters. Hill is a rookie with great promise but not ready yet. And Sanchez is a good quarterback but he's certainly not great and I don't know if even a great QB could produce major points with the offensive talent we have. Add to all this the fact that our best defensive player is done for the season and that the old, slow linebackers we had last year are a year older and a step slower this year. The D Line has promise, and I like Wilk, Coples, Ellis, Pouha, etc. but they have only been playing decently and even if that unit hits its potential (which I think tops out at being a Top 5 DLine) it won't be enough to stop capable opponents on every single drive. We have major injuries and, among the players not hurt, a severe lack of speed and playmaking abilities (where is the attacking defense? what's a sack?). Coaches and players seem demoralized....the injury to Revis was akin to a death in the family for Rex Ryan. Revis was the one piece that held his defensive house of cards together. The only sacks the Jets ever seem to get are coverage sacks and now our ability to cover well has been cut in half. The linebackers in particular will be exposed. I don't think the Jets are the worst team in football. In fact, their mediocre talent and some decent coaching could keep them a consistent 6 to 9 win team for years to come...but that's not the goal. And to truly compete for a championship the Jets don't have to fill one hole or fix one problem, they probably need at least 5 or 6 new starters (RB, FB, WR, TE, 2 LBs). That is unlikely to happen anytime soon. I don't even have the energy to address the coaching. |

It is actually very believable because Jet fans are accustomed to doom and failure. That's what happens over time without a championship. It could be alot worse such as if the fins made that FG to win. That was actually a bad thing that we won because the team figures hey we played like crap and still eeked out a win so we can probably eek another at home against the 49ers NOT!
It's good that they got stomped on and that they are 9 point dogs this week. Maybe the players will realize that you actually have to tackle the guy with the ball instead of just go for a jog with him if you want to win! I am not giving up just yet as the season has just begun.Having a 2-0 div record should give them plenty of incentive to get on track and move forward. I am hoping the weather is as cold as possible mon night and that this team gets a fire lit under their butts. The Jets were within 4 points at halftime sunday if sanchez doesn't mess up in scoring range. Why they weren't running the ball is beyond me. The coaches need to call the plays that will minimize mistakes and they are not doing that. The nightmare of needing to replace Sanchez is quickly becoming a reality as he is regressing instead of improving to the point that something surely has to be done if it continues. Rex needs to get some bawlz and yank his butt when he messes up. It's time for that. Mark has had every opportunity and it is clear he has decision making issues. If they stay with sanchez the only way I see them scoring is if they run a no huddle offense. This having him drop back in the pocket on short yardage situations has got to stop! I get more pissed on the call than anything most of the time. Rex Cmon Man!!!!! Its now or never ! Get these guys playing some football!!! |

It seems like most jet fans are not upset about losing to SF and the steelers they were not favored to win either game and it would have been great if they won one of them. They are upset on how they lost and the teams demeanor on the field when they were losing, Then throw in an uninspired effort against the fins and Revis's injury being the proverbial cherry on top, their reactions are to be expected.
Tanny rolled the dice and went for broke building this team the team has gotten old or ineffective at too many positions. Rebuilding gives some fans hope the the present team is not given the fans at this point. |
