Gubbermint Health Care? Not so bad...

Had to switch to Child Health Care Plus for my kiddos as my companies health care costs were set to rise 31% this year.

Instead of paying $230 a pay period, now I will pay $27 a month to cover both of my kids with lower deductibles than my current plan.

Whargharble and stuff!

AND I'll have an extra $188 in my paycheck every week. Sweet!

Fwiw....I'd have never known about the program were it not for my company's HR guy that sits in the parking lot every day until 1:15 listening to Rush on the radio of his Chevy Suburban (mines cooler as I have the escalade rims on mine).

By switching to the state program, it saves the company 12k. That's freaking nuts considering that my kids only go to the doc for their shots for school.

I guess I would have signed up for this crap 3 years ago and saved myself thousands in premiums. I just didn't know it existed.

FWIW, they'll only be on it for the next 9 months. Their mom already has an RN job lined up at the hospital and will go on her insurance in May.

Pretty common problem tbh. Many who qualify in the U.S. may not know they qualify, or that programs to help them even exist. Sometimes it pays to get knowledgeable about the system.

SWEET! Though the reason that your company plan went up 31% is precisely due to Obamacare. Ours is up over 50% in the past 3 years. Families that don't qualify for CHCP are screwed as are businesses that provide health insurance to their employees. But whatevs right, at least it's working for you for now.
