They were lifeless in the first half, when the score should have been at least 7-3 going into the locker room?

Joe Namath is an over rated blow hard who won one big game in his career on the backs of his RB and defense. There has never been a more over rated HOF QB. The argument that he was the first one to throw over 4000 yards is garbage, yards mean jack sh*t when you throw 28 ints the same damn year and only 26 tds. I would rather have a guy who throws for 3000 yards and 10 ints all day everyday. Turnovers lose games and yards thrown don't mean jack sh*t if you turn the ball over. All Joe Namath is now is a washed up loud mouth drunk who talks out of his a*s so he can somehow get back into the lime light. I know to some of you older guys he is God and he may have been but what he wasn't is a great QB. How can somebody be considered great when they have an under .500 record? It's a joke.

smh.
I never thought I'd see the day that Rex ryans def would be called out for quitting. This season is just getting more painfully comical by the minute. I don't quite know who's really at fault for the terrible roster moves by the jets, but I know the jets deserve every single ounce of humiliation and embarrassment this season has in store for them. Maybe, just maybe they'll stop resting on their back to back afc title games and actually try to improve the roster. We as fans have been screaming for a few years now about our pedestrian lb corp. How is it that Rex and company can't see what is painfully obvious too everyone else in the world?

But it's time to take off the green colored glasses... Now you're letting them off the hook with the "injury" excuse... Remember, the Jets played putridly against the Steelers in game 2 this season, with no excuses, both Revis and Holmes played... There is no magic left in Rex... |

This very question was asked to Damien Woody tonight via twitter, and he responded acknowledging that it happens. The Steeler game was a different animal. Take away Cromartie's inability to track the ball, and the Hill drop, and it's a ball game and maybe even a Jets victory, that wasn't a bad game for the Jets competitively, Sanchez was victimized by dropped passes and his WR's unable to get through press coverage. The Steelers are a good football team, and a game in their home opener is a tall task for any team. |

Lets finally get something straight. The AFL and NFL agreed to a merger deal in 1966 and that's when they started the Super Bowl between the AFL and NFL. The leagues officially merged in 1970 and thats when the 2 conferences were created. But let there be no mistake, whether or not the Jets won Super Bowl 3 had no impact on the merger, the merger was agreed to 3 years prior and nothing was stopping that.

"If this didn't happen..." or "If they had done that instead..."etc... Why are the Steelers always solid, why are the Steelers always better than the Jets, why were the Steelers expected to beat the Jets that day, even after the Jets were coming off an impressive win against the Bills... Its because the Steelers have a better front office... The Steelers have a better HC.... The Steelers have a better QB... It's now into the fourth Rex season, and the Jets are still not better than the Steelers. In fact, there not even close... Sadly, changes are coming... |

The truth is, if its that easy to lose hope for a game, or the season, there wasn't that much to begin with. |

There is no leadership in this whole organization. They all the use the poor excuse of 'its a team effort'. While that sounds good to the ears, it reeks of a lack of accountability for anyone. |

Fair rebuttal, but against a team like the 49ers, no Revis, and then losing Holmes?

They quit in the second quarter. The second half is when you can hear laughter coming from the 9ers sideline. This team is dead and gave up long before this. Yeah, "one step faster." The issue is they were already 3 steps slower.

The loudmouths on a team are also the ones most likely to quit. This is the time for the guys that Rex gave big bucks to, to step up and get all the players playing hard. You have to see these guys on the field and on the sideline in other players faces. If the guys don't step up for Rex after Rex did for them then Rex is done. |

when you're getting your ass beat, and then every single little thing goes wrong (pick 6 of screen, 2 fumbles off 2 injuries, punt block) it ALWAYS looks like the losing team "gives up".
every single time a team loses a bad game in any sport, someone always says they gave up, or weren't trying, or have no heart. now if the jets go on a 3 game losing streak now, then maybe we can talk about giving up or losing the team. |

Rex lost this team late last year and they have not recovered.
What we're seeing now is a continuation of last year. I've been a very big Rex supporter but the fact is his teams come out and unprepared and play soft/give up way too often. |
