Last year it was Fire Schotty, this year its fire Tanny, next year?
Firing seems to be the easy fix around here. Apparently we got to 2 AFCC with terrible coaches, players, and a terrible GM. How the hell did we do any of that with this group of morons?

GMs seem to get at least seven years around here so things should be pretty stable after Tanny goes.

Tanny has to go. The new guy and his new head coach (if he wants a new one) get at least three years to show they are on the right track. Some people might think we can become competetive in two years but we need to be realistic about just how deep the talent deficit is here that we are going to try and dig out of.
But Tanny Has To Go. He is a fu^&ing disaster. It all begins and ends with him since Woody is immune. |

Uh, so what's the point? We shouldn't fire people when they don't perform?
So - we stay here with the status quo? Stick with Mark next year. Let Rex and Tanny run another draft. The team is going to have huge question marks at CB and WR next year; we'll likely be losing our 'starting' FB TE and RB and parts of our line. Add in the big injuries. So we should have the same guys cleaning up the mess they've made? |

Have you looked at Sam Bradford's numbers? He had a good game against the Redskins....but everybody does. He was lousy in the other 3. As soon as the NFC West gets wise to Schitty's gameplans, and it won't take long, the Rams offense is destined for bottom 5 and Bradford is doomed to failure. Schitty still sucks. The only thing that changed is now we can be sure that Mark is not the answer at QB.

I think it's because the organization got complacent. I never was a fan of Tanny's draft strategy of "quality over quantity". If that's the strategy, then as a GM you have to be near perfect. How many years did they go into the draft having anywhere from 3-5 picks total? Plus, Jets have went around in circles replacing talent over the past few years.

The Patriots have a bad hit% in the draft, but they give themselves so many shots at it that they get a couple of productive guys from it almost every year. Baltimore just seems to sit back and take players that fall below their projections. Works really well for them. "Oh look, Terrence Cody is still on the board. He wasn't supposed to be here. We'll take him." The Falcons made a big move up in the draft after they had their whole team, more or less, in place. QB, running game, offensive line, good enough defense (by 2012 standards). So they decided to move up for Julio Jones and take their offense to the next level. We move up in the draft with holes all over the roster. What do we need next year? QB, RB, WR, TE, G, OL depth, LB, pass rusher, S (Bell is old, Smith is gone), CB depth. We have no hope of filling all of that in just one draft, but we need to come away with as many guys as possible. If we wind up in the 7-10 range this year, I want us to trade down. |

Well its good to rest on ones past accomplishments. No need to focus on what is happening in the present. No need to admit that the so called management is a farse. No need to realize that this team is so over rated and that Tanny and Rex are the reasons why, but all is good we lost back to back AFC championship games. Both games showed all of the fans that Rex was not ready, and the team only showed up for half of these two games. Keep looking back as the rest of the NFL teams pass us by.

STL's offense is worse than ours, even after taking into account last Sundays shutout.
so if this is a pro-Schotty thread, it pfails in many ways. |

If getting to two AFC champ games (being massively lucky to make the playoffs each year) is good enough for you then by all means keep them on.
I would say if the team went like this... Look very bad after 4 games... Miss playoffs 8-8 with some lucky wins Make playoffs with some lucky breaks AFC champ game. Make playoffs with some lucky breaks AFC champ game but look better. You would have no one calling for heads. Instead it went like this.... Make playoffs with some lucky breaks AFC champ game. Make playoffs with some lucky breaks AFC champ game but look better. Miss playoffs 8-8 with some lucky wins. Look very bad after 4 games. We are NOT on the upswing, the graph is trend downward sharply. |

the team has a dearth of talent which is a direct reflection on the GM, Mr. T and the scouting department.
There was a reason why Rex was passed over numerous times for HC by other teams...and we are now seeing it manifested in living color. He just isn't equipped to be the head man. There will be a clean sweep of these two guys and the only question is when it will happen. |

After you fire the GM and get a new one (which usually results in a new HC too, plus usually OC / DC etc) the fans then turn on the players - they were drafted by the OLD regime, so can't be any good. After a couple of years of "cut this guy", "cut that guy", then it turns once again to the co-ordinators ("fire Schotty"
). So you turn them over, then it's back to the HC / GM ... and the cycle continues. In NY, of course, this usually all happens over 1 season, not several.
