I'll see if I can dig it up, but Urban Meyer gave a great coaching talk to Ohio HS football coaches. (Trying to remember this off the top of my head, so it might not be exact). He talked about the difference between lecturing/talking and teaching. Talked about how when players seemed to not know what they should be doing, that's a problem with coaching. So yeah, I can see where the coaches needed 2 days to check out there own house and make sure it was in order. That they were focusing on the right things and doing things correctly. Here's a link to the Meyer's vid: The part about the difference between "presenting" and "Teaching/coaching" starts at about the 23 minute mark. It's actually well worth watching. That said, it would also illustrate that he is learning and he's willing to change things that aren't working. At least I hope he is. |

Sigh.... The apple really does not fall far from the tree. "Tired" is Rex-speak for tossing the offense under the bus while handing a nice prepackaged excuse to the defense. If we were truly an elite defense we would stop the other team and keep on stopping them all day and all night NO MATTER HOW BAD THE OFFENSE WAS.
Way to go Rex. Head Coach of half a team and let's be honest, not doing all that great of a job with that half either. |

It should be more clear to you than ever before that Rex Ryan is not part of the solution but rather part of the problem. While this team is not as stocked with talent as some other teams we've fielded, they're not this bad. Yet we haven't beaten a single team with a winning record since the Patriots playoff win at the end of the 2010 season, and in all those games we're getting annihilated, not even close. The warning signs were there last year. The Jets didn't react. Now they're going to have to. We were sucking before Holmes and Revis went down. Wouldn't have made a difference. SAR I |

Am I the only one that thinks it is worse to say the team isn't conditioned to play a full game? I'd rather think that this is an attitude issue that a good kick in the ass can fix. Other then well we just can't play a full game. WTF Rex!

Whomever replaces Rex Ryan just better not be another rookie. I'm done breaking in newbs. Get someone who's cut his teeth elsewhere, will coach like it's his last shot, will get his players to show some sense of urgency. SAR I |

Sar, do you think it's time the Jets hired the hypnotist from the movie "The Natural"? Look what it did for the Knights.

We have beaten teams with winning records at the time we played them since that patriots game... If you want to use the excuse that they finished the year with a losing record than you can't take any game this season into account until week 16. I'm not saying that this season hasnt been a clear disappointment so far but thats a silly argument at best.

Hubris ( /ˈhjuːbrɪs/), also hybris, from ancient Greek ὕβρις, means extreme pride or arrogance. Hubris often indicates a loss of contact with reality and an overestimation of one's own competence or capabilities, especially when the person exhibiting it is in a position of power. The adjectival form of hubris is "hubristic". I've enjoyed the Rex show but think he really doesn't have what it takes, in the end, to be a Mike McCarthy-type of coach. |
