quality post...... you must be young enough to not have had life kick you in the balls. It will. How we recover is the measuring stick.

I think he was misunderstood. His interview with Jim Rome was pretty interesting, talked about how Klecko blackballed him and made his life miserable. I could see how guys would be jealous of him for all the endorsements and popularity he got.

He definitely brought a lot of it on himself, but the interview showed a different side of it.

Gastineau made LT look like a choir boy, but it's all swept under the carpet because he's white.

are you kidding me Zippy?

I've read your posts, you should really look in the mirror before calling anyone out.

Gastineau left this football team for a chick

I met Gastineau personally and he was a huge D1CK to me

Please dude, don't tell me about life, and its ups and downs...as I have had plenty

I like this one better. Was from his later, expressionistic period.

I am in a forgiving "period" in my life. Gast was a GREAT Jet, and totally fukked up his life. I know. I simply have moved on.

Didn't mean disrespect. Accept my apology.

It's all good....no need for apology, but I respect that you did

I used to work at Greg Buttles in Elwood, and met Mark. Of course I was in awe, but after speaking to him, and the way he looked down to me, was an absolute turn off....granted, he was at his peak, but I was just a kid and his disrespect for me and everyone who worked there is something I will never forget.

LMAO!!

Still can't get over the roughing penalty on 2nd & 24, which would have been 3rd and 24!!

I still cannot watch that game replay on NFL Network.

So much is made of Gastineau crossing the line, but plenty of other guys crossed the picket line in 87, including Jets Team Captain Joe Fields. Some other notable names you may have heard of were: Joe Montana, Dwight Clark and Roger Craig.

Unfortunately, most celebrity athletes are like that. Gastineau has certainly changed his ways later in life. I met him at a Texans game back in like 2006 and he was great. Signed a bunch of autographs for kids on his way out to the parking lot.

Many of the Jets back in the day would roll through Buttles....he was by far the worst...most guys were friendly and supportive

Granted, when they get older, they can change their ways, but isn't it funny what we remember most, as impressionable kids

Still one of the most dominant pass rushers the NFL has ever seen. Can't take that away from him.
