Sanchez gives motivational speech...

To Bernard's high.

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez gives motivational speech to Bernards High football team James Kratch/For The Star-Ledger 10/06/2012 9:18 PM

Prior to its game with New Providence High on Friday night, the Bernards High football team had a guest swing by the locker room.

The visitor? Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, who stopped by to give the team a few words of encouragement before it took on New Providence with the Mid-State 38 Conference-Union Division championship at stake.

"It was great," Bernards coach Jon Simoneau said. "He gave a warm, heartfelt speech. His tag line was, 'Let our dreams be their nightmares.'

"It was moving. I wanted to go put on a helmet and play."

Sanchez works with the same training group Bernards utilizes, Simoneau said, and he and several of his teammates came and worked out with Bernards during the NFL lockout last year.

"He is a class act and a great motivator," Simoneau said. "It definitely helped make it a night to remember."

Following Sanchez's speech, Bernards thumped New Providence, 42-3, to improve to 5-0 and capture its second league title in as many seasons.

Hope he saved some for our team.

If this were Tebow we would b gushing over his message. Jets fans gotta love'em. Most of them are also mets fans, so that explains their miserable, desperate, negative attitudes.

Hey -- maybe the Jets can play New Providence during their bye week and get back on track! Why not? Mark has already scouted them.

It would be nice if Sanchez could give a motivational speech to the team he plays on.
