+1

I like Revis, he's been my fav jet under this regime, I own his jersey and all, but when rebuilding you have to trade away your assets for picks to build in the future.

Get what you can for him, build in the future. Besides, name me a CB who has led his team to a SB? Don't worry I'll wait..............

Stevie Johnson better than any of our healthy Wrs

Bills are as bad or worse than we are.

1995 The Jets were 3-13 followed by 1-15...there was no worse team in the NFL. Two years later we were in the AFC Championship game.

Things change fast in this league. Relax!

I'd want a #1 and a starting player such as a RB or stud OLB.

of course things can change fast, but change doesn't come by sitting on your hands. You gotta put the pieces in motion. In 95 the Jets fired Kotite, hired Parcells and the rest is history. It's evident the Jets gotta make some changes for things to improve.

Things do change fast. And I don't think the Jets are doomed forever or anything ridiculous like that. But this thread was on target with one question - who's the player on the roster that you're excited about? Who's the guy on the current roster that's going to make plays during the year when the Jets get DO get it together? Based on the way they are playing today, who's the guy that you feel confident will develop into a name?

If you come up with any name to those questions other than Revis, Cro or Holmes, you're lying to yourself. The Jets have a long way to go. When this team is finally championship caliber, the following players will not be starting:

Pouha, Devito, Scott, Pace, Bell, Thomas/McIntyre, Slauson, Moore, Howard, Greene, Conner and of course Sanchez.

That's more than half the starters on this team, including the all-important QB. And that's assuming Keller and Landry are resigned, and that Harris isn't cut for his generally putrid performance. No matter what, that's a lot of work for the front office, especially when you consider the weakness of the depth at this time.

that team also had a new legendary coach taken over and a rejuvenated veteran qb and a hof rb. things have to change for the team to change.

What about the chiefs or the chargers, lest us forget about the raiders as well.

As fan group and I do not go to their boards but live in south florida you guys are about the worst self pitying group I have seen

Guys, seriously, the Jets are not that bad. There is not 1 player over the age of 28 presently that will be on this team after this season. The Jets are really a young team with many talented Players.

The problem is the talent needs to be developed and the team needs a QB who is an on the field strong leader. The team will be OK even through this yr.

Not sure the question helps the discussion.

My point is that GOOD solid teams have players drafted LATE or UDFA's that contribute meaningfully.

We seem to be below average there as well.

This is right. You need quality QB play and some key defensive playmakers.

Get lucky and draft a good QB, sign a WR and pass rusher and the team can win a lot of games. I know easier said than done, but in this NFL, teams turn around quickly.

Wikerson, Ellis, and Coples. We will have the best Dline in football over the next couple years. We've had a ton of key injuries, and working in new players, along with learning a new system. We're still 2-2, and hopfully the new guys will at least get more playing time. There are some starters that just are too slow at this point. Football is about timing, and confidence, and the weakest link. There are all sorts of things that can make you look better, or worse than you are. The schedule gets easier after tonight. W'ell see what we have by the end of the year. We need some receivers to step up, and Keller back. We need a RB. That is true, but that's just one player. I really wish they would sit Greene, and Cumberland, and see what other people can do. I want to see all the young Dlinemen play, and some LBs too. I don't know about the future being bleak, but I do feel bad for you guys.

Before last seson, Victor Cruz was on his way to being release by the Jints. They lost all their receivers due to injury and he got the chance to overcome his early mistakes on the field. Some of these freeagents staring today in the NFL were on bad team, or teams where the preferred stars got injured and got the opportunities to improve in live action.

Take a guy like McIntyre for example Vs a guy like maybin. Bryan Thomas goes down, and McIntyre gets a chance to play. He shows a Motor, strength at the POA against OT and OGs and the ability to get to and bring down the QB. He also shows that he can't play in space as a LBer. Thomas comes back, and Mcintyre is a ghost. Maybin gets a chance to play, shows no strength at the POA but gets a ton of Coverage sacks running around OTs and hitting the QBs who hold the ball forever. Who do the fans not love love. Who do the coaches Play.

Sometimes what u see with the naked eye is not what is to be believed. Take Bilal Powell for example. He runs with decent speed, power and elusiveness. He catches the ball out of the backfield extremely well and is a decent blocker who's actually willing to block. Who do the fans not love and who do the coaches play.

How do players get the chance to excel if they don't play and allowed to overcome their mistakes.

The players are here, the problem is the coaches are playing the players they believe will give them the best chance to win instead of analyzing what is happening on the field and playing the best players.

Cumberland is not doing that badly. He's a 25 yr old 3rd year player who missed his entire 2nd yr and is learning a new syatem .He's making mistakes, but even so he's making plays. I would rather work with him than give Keller that huge payday he wants and end up with another Harris or Pace situation.
