Why do people price tickets crazy on Stubhub?
For instance someone is selling lower level seats in row 18 for Sundays Colts game for $59 bucks on stubhub crazy low.
Indianapolis Colts at New York Jets Tickets Sunday, October 14, 2012, 1:00 p.m. EDT | MetLife Stadium in East Section: Lower Goal Line 133 Seats: Row 18 | Seats Guaranteed together Quantity: 2 Price per ticket: $59.00 USD Meanwhile someone has a pair for sale also in lower level touchdown corner for $9,999 each. Indianapolis Colts at New York Jets Tickets Sunday, October 14, 2012, 1:00 p.m. EDT | MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ Section: Lower Goal Line 144 Seats: Row 39 | Seats 1, 2 Price per ticket: $9,999.00 USD What the heck is the point of crazy pricing. Person A selling tickets $70 under face for a good one pm game and person b selling his seats for almost $10,000 over face. Drives me nuts |

I'm watching the Hub as well. Thinking of taking my boys - not likely to make jump in until the weekend when prices dive.
Its funny, when I used to have season tix, I would pay the big nut upfront and forget about b/c it was already spent. Now, when faced with the prospect of paying for 4 seats for one game, I can't believe its this much money. I've definitely turned into a cheap bastard and am looking to pay as little as possible. I feel bad for the STH who get stuck with them, but I'm not willing to pay more than Market Value. |

kind of like ebay: very high listing, sell it for a loss, deduct on tax return.

This thread gave me good inspiration and got my tickets sold, lol. I had put my 2 lower endzone tickets up for 110 a piece (125 face), and figured might as well throw the parking pass in (which nobody else had done that had tix listed in the section, also basically everybody else was priced higher to begin with). So I see this thread and figured, meh, probably nobody's going to go in at 110 each even with the parking pass, and by the time people start sweating it out close to gameday, all the tickets that are left will probably be 50 or less. So I figure to hell with it and move the tickets down to 90 each, go away from the comp for 5 mins, come back and boom, they're sold lol.

Or Is that standard practice to raise the average listing price so that the face value of the tickets seems like a bargain compared to the average listing price? |
