Yankees vs. Tigers -- 2012 ALCS
Very short turnaround for this one.
I think that benefits the Yankees. Anybody know what the pitching matchups will be? |

Swish is quite possibly the worst playoff baseball player in history

The MLB really f'd up when making this playoff schedule. It really is unfair scheduling. Its one thing purposely starting your pitcher on short rest in a series, but the scheduling making it so you HAVE to start 2 SP on short rest while the other team doesn't is ridiculous.
The Yankees HAVE to start Kuroda and Sabathia on short rest for their starts. Unless they want to start someone like Nova game 2.. The Tigers since their series was a day behind ours, are set up perfectly to make their starts. There should have been a day of rest between series for the Yankees as well. |

![]() Going into the ALDS the Yankees had the extra day's rest over Tigers/As and the easier matchup (both of which of course they earned, no problem with that). You weren't complaining about it then. |

Its a unfair advantage. If the Tigers had to start their game 2 and 3 starters on short rest as well, then it would at least be fair. I fail to see how the Yankees earning the #1 seed and getting to play the lowest seed is the same as scheduling making it so one team has to start 2 pitchers on short rest while the other team doesn't. And who's to say the Orioles are the easier match up? They have been tough all season and have really good pitching and their bullpen depth is incredible. Still, none of what you said is equal to what I said about the unfair advantage. Last edited by k.Rhodes25; 10-13-2012 at 10:11 AM. |

So much for the advantage of winning your division and the best record in the AL. Tell me was it necessary to sandwich the Wild Card Game game with two off-days. It's going to be difficult to arrange the rotation thanks to the scheduling that disadvantages the 1 seed. Here are two options:
Game 1: Fister-Pettitte Game 2: Sanchez-Phelps Game 3: Kuroda-Verlander Game 4: CC-Scherzer Game 5: Pettitte-Fister Game 6: Sanchez-Phelps/Hughes (either one could start, probably Hughes) Game 7: Verlander-CC on 3 days rest OR Game 1: Fister-Pettitte Game 2: Sanchez-Kuroda on 3 days rest Game 3: Hughes-Verlander Game 4: CC-Scherzer Game 5: Pettitte-Fister Game 6: Sanchez-Kuroda Game 7: Verlander-CC on 3 days rest Last edited by 21st Amendment; 10-13-2012 at 01:09 PM. |

MLB really phucked up the scheduling. But the banged up bullpens is what gives you stuff like what happened in DC last night.
Pettite Kuroda Hughes (if series is 1-1 or 2-0 Yanks) CC Pettite Kuroda CC Rotation is a little shaky but that is why it was so important to finish BAL in 4. Only good thing is CC gave the pen a night off. |

The schedule isn't favorable but that's only because the Yankees didn't get it done in game 4.
If they lose to the Tigers it will likey be because the O was a no show again |

Its not like the Tigers got it done in 4 games either, they went 5 games as well. Just idiotic scheduling that screws the Yankees alone. |

This offense just makes me sick. They are a pathetic bunch of losers who have a long track record of coming up small when it counts.
Perhaps Cashman will find some winners this off-season. |
