"(Arena Football) has done well before, but not as well as it will be done now," said Kurz in a teleconference. "With this transition to AF1 our message to our fans, our sponsors and to everyone to get ready because Arena Football 1 is going to make arena football better than it ever was

"All the previous efforts were well intended and good," said Kurz. "The owners who put this league together took the time to do it right We want to make sure that we don't grow for the sake of growing. We want to grow in markets that want us".

"Fans of arena football can expect the AF1 to be as real as arena football can get," Kurz said.

"This is as real as Arena Football," he said, adding that former AFL owners have "a snowball's chance in a warm room" to successfully restart their own league in 2011

Well if that right there dont put mouth-breathing, double-wide fannies in the seats what will? We may see a surge in the international cotton candy markets. We may not.

They have folded a few times the NFL always finds a way to save them. I haven't seen an AFL game in a while. It was actually interesting to watch. It was like high powered rugby. Or on Eagles game.

Just so simple for the NFL to start a minor league summer program. Same teams, fan base already in place, playing in the same houses, no infrastructure issues, local TV contracts, NFL network coverage and replay of all games thru the week. This would work without question with current owners and NFL footing modest operating
Budget calling it NFLite or NFL2. Best players get invited to training camp with a shoot at making it to the big show.
