Big difference though.

The Pats have a running game and the Colts don't. The Pats can run the ball down the Jets' throat if need be and use the play action to set up the pass which will keep the rush off Brady. Luck didn't have that.

Luck relies on Reggie Wayne too much and Cromartie took him away. That forced him to hold onto the ball too long on many plays. Brady has many different receivers he can throw to and although he throws to Welker a lot, he isn't opposed to throwing elsewhere a lot.

Also, you have to look at when the Jets got their sacks. Wilkerson got his sack late in the fourth up 28-9 with Luck forced to throw on every down. Couples second sack was in the third with the Colts down 21-6. The Colts were passing a lot allowing the Jets to pin their ears back and not to worry about the run.

The Pats only let the Seahawks sack Brady once on 58 pass attempts and they have a monster pass rush.

The Jets could get to Brady and a lot, but before last weekend the Jets only had 5 sacks on the year. They haven't been getting to the QB. I don't know if success against a bad team with no running game who were down early and forced to throw a lot is proof the Jets' pass rush has turned a corner.

Yeah I'm going to lay the 10.5 in this one.

O/U on how many Bart Scott "ankle sprains" he has this Sunday?

Big difference, this is the most that Coples played in one game this season. Pasts have also given up 13 sacks this season

A few things:
  • The Jets have 9 sacks for the season which is 26th in the league. They got four against a bad Colts' team with no running game and two came in garbage time.
  • Yes, the Pats have given up 13 sacks, but 4 came against Arizona who are third in the league in sacks with 19 sacks and four came against Denver who are 4th in sacks with 18 sacks. So the Pats had 5 sacks allowed in the other four games they played.
  • Coples may not see a lot of time in this game because the Pats will run an uptempo no huddle and Ryan may be leery of keeping him on the field for long stretches with his conditioning concerns. Also, until he proves last week wasn't a fluke game, he isn't really a pass rushing threat that the Pats need to be overly concerned about.

Pats are smart, football Players these days are not comfy unless the coach has told them a play/formation and a vet has made sure everyone is in the right place. Hell out defense is looking at each other and motioning even with a normal offense. This offense exposes the over coaching of players.

Great, another super smart coaching move. Just like practicing for the run and letting everyone know its a run. AWESOME!!!

Pace is clearly saying it's borderline illegal because they are running plays before even their own offensive players are completely set.

And that isn't borderline illegal, it's just illegal.

The Jets aren't dumb (eh forget I said that)....Demario Davis, Dowtin, Allen, etc are gonna play a lot this game regardless of being wet behind the ears. Stamina and speed are gonna be more important than experience.

With that said, I'm somewhat concerned for Coples...definitely not the type of pace he has endurance for.

This must be the "hard but true", and "unpopular but dead on" perspective u bring to the board.

Wait, are you saying that the O/U of ankle sprais is 10.5? Hmmm.....that's a damn good line. May have to take the over on this one.

I'm with you Ikey, this game smells like a disaster. Doesn't doom the Jets, for the season, but it ain't gonna be pretty.

Forget about pass rush. The Jets will rush 2 guys about 70% of the time, sit in a zone and try to take away the underneath patterns or at least the YAC. They'll try and replicate the formula from the playoff win. Only problem is is that it was somewhat of a surprise then, and the chips fell the Jets way.

Expect Ridley to have about 300 yards rushing. The only prayer the Jets have is to hold the Pats consistently to FGs and then take advantage of the opportunistic long ball when they arise.
