You don't think Gen. Powell has earned more respect than that? In announcing his endorsement he laid out why he came to the decision he did.

I don't believe anyone questioned if Sen. Lieberman supported Sen. McCain because he was white.

I think Powell stated in 2008, when he first voted for Obama, that he liked the idea of voting for a black president.

That is his prerogative. You can vote for whoever you want for whatever reason you want. And Obama getting 90+ percent of the black vote isn't bc his policies are good.

Michael Steele ran for the U.S. Senate in Maryland in 2006. He got 25% of the black vote, Ben Cardin got 72% (yes, he's white) The amount of black people voting for Obama only because he's black is probably the same % of people voting against him because he's black.
