She's like 'oh well if we lose power we'll just drive to your sisters ' -she doesn't even bother to take into account flooded roads or downed trees. Like we'll just be able travel whereever we want to

Surprisingly, I'm actually turning out to be the more rational one in this scenario. For someone who watches the news a lot (my wife) - she doesn't seem to really pay attention.

But I feel that I'd have failed as a father if If I do not do everything within my means to ensure that everyone here is safe, and that we have enough supplies.

Look how little it moves in 24 hours from Tue to Wed

This is why we're doomed

Why do they have such nice harmless names for these hurricanes? Why not name them for the severity of the storm like Hurricane Shlt my Pants?

Generator is topped off, basement is (mostly) cleared, food is what it is. If sh!t gets critical, I have already said I will be making my way to the nearest hotel. I'll battle as long as possible, but ultimately it will time to cut bait.

Saw convoy after convoy of utility trucks traveling I-85 North out of Atlanta today. Guess they're taking it serious.

I'm in the northwest corner of the state, which only means that we're only spared the coastal flooding part.

This is the latest path as of this morning:

Yesterday I went around the property to take some 'before' pics, just curious to see how many trees we're going to lose.

Based on that satellite picture, you would think that the storm in the top right of the picture would suck Sandy out to sea.

Actually, it's just the opposite. That's the nor'easter that will cause Sandy to take an unusual sharp left right into New Jersey. Folks in Eastern PA will be rewarded with new found oceanfront property.

It's actually what's causing to push it inland, kind of like a cock blocker or something....
