So is there any real reason to fill your bathrub with water?
I've read this is a good idea in case you lose your water service, and you can use that water to flush your toilet (by pouring water in your terlet).

Wife thinks I am overreacting and 'scaring the children' but personally I'm ready to tie her to a tree outside at this point.

Some quotes from different sites

"... a storm surge of 11 feet may hit lower Manhattan."

"Weather service reporting ocean wave heights of 30 feet ahead of expected 11-foot storm surge along New Jersey coast."

They were also reporting estimated wave heights in the Atlantic near the eye of the storm around '42.

Now that is insane. Manhattan will be underwater.

Not a chance. People get fooked by the storm and Woody awaits his PSL payments ASAP.

Just got back from another stroll along the Hudson.

Half the walkway was already under two inches of water, choppy waters, very spooky

I plan on doing that. It's a good idea if you lose water.

I also packed my freezer with ziplock bags full of water last night. If the power goes out it should help to keep everything cold longer, like an old fashioned icebox.

If you actually stopped drinking after yesterdays game, wait at least until you see the first neighbour flying by your window ...

Stay safe and don't go swinging on any downed power lines.

First real bands of "storm" finally hitting my area. Heavy rain, decent winds. And thats well inland. Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.
