I predict this is going to look like Bush v Kerry with Obama winning by a much bigger margin then the polling suggests.

Warfish, please don't use the "economy hasn't been fixed in 4 years" argument. No president would have been able to turn around the economic mess in less than 4 years, considering just how bad it was. Do you honestly think McCain would have? Maybe Obama thought he could fix it in one term, then realized once he got in that he couldn't. The ecocomy is recovering, it's just gonna take longer than 4 years. Yeah, two wars will kill a surplus. This includes a completely unnecessary war in Iraq. Coupled with tax cuts to the wealthiest, the wars caused a record surplus to turn into a record deficit. Which is on Bush, hence why he is to be blamed for it. |

1) the number of people from each party that actually voted was way different than what was expected 2) independents leaned primarily one way 3) a 3rd party candidate "stole" votes from one side more than another I just don't see how Democrats can count on the first two scenarios being in their favor -- the polling already accounts for more Dems than Reps, so the only way that stat can go for them is down. And as you said, there's no reason to think Independents are going to carry Dems to a victory. The third option is the only one they could hope for, but I don't see how it would be widespread enough to have a tangible difference. That doesn't mean Obama can't win -- I just don't see where this "easy victory" idea is coming from. I know I'm looking more at the popular vote than the electoral college, but it still seems like a lot of things would have to break right for this to not be a fight for EITHER candidate, and Romney would seem to have a better chance of the first two scenarios going his way . . . Bush wasn't a good President, but he is a great man- at the very least someone I respect as a person. Obama doesn't like the USA- he's not one of us...that much is very very clear. And that's the scariest part about this skinny thug....the biggest crime is the media doing everything they can to get this guy elected Benghazi is WAY worse than Watergate |

Yes, you are, because you just tossed out a list of excuses and rationalizations for why you support a man whose actions and policies you just used to beat to death (rightfully so) the previous man in office.
You're absolutely a hypocrite, as are most Democrats this cycle. Party > Country, same as we can always expect for this 2-party system. Their guy does it, it's the worst thing ever. Our guy does it too, and watch the excuses and rationalizations and but, but, but arguments flow in. End of the day, Obama has done everything Bush did. Everything. From waging war, to pandering to illegals, to absuing Americans rights, and more. On top of that he pandered to Unions, created a laughably bad Obamacare system that helps no one, and more. Too much more to list it all tbh, including scandals like Libya, fast and Furious and more. Mishandled and Bushian, thats the future Obama legacy. The worst President ever, followed by the 2nd worst President ever, Bush and Obama. If thats what you want, by all means, vote for it. But same the silly excuse-making for the ignorants out there, I am not amongst them. |

Reagan fixed the US economy?!!! EPIC LOL.
Not an Obama supporter at all, but Reagan WRECKED the US economy, not only in his time (the recession Bush 1 experienced was down to Reagan), but also recently. Reagan was the first to bring in supply-side economics where cutting taxes and spending more apparently meant you were going to balance a budget....its a mantra that has ruined the Republican Party. If they stuck true to their small government promise they would be worth supporting in terms of their economic philosophy. Your MASSIVE public debt is down to Ronald Reagan - as I've said on here before probably the worst US President in your country's history. During the 12 years of Reagan and Bush 1, the USA quadrupled its public debt - it took 200 years for the USA to run up a billion $ worth of debt up until that time......Reagan ran it up to over $5 billion by the time he was done when Bush 1 was made to wear the cost of the Reagan stupidity. Talk about taking out the credit card and paying today for tomorrow.....whoever wins the election will have to deal with Reagan's dementia-laden legacy. I don't call many people evil, but have to say Reagan is one of them - if the American Empire falls, given it is based on ecomomic superiority, he will have been one of the architects. |

The economy wasn't nearly as bad in 1980 that it was in 2008, and Reagan raised taxes 11 times and skyrocketed the debt.

If Reagan was evil, what would you call Obama and his $6B tab? After promising to cut the deficit in half, LOL-mothaphuckin-LZZZZZ. And if the answer is Dubya, then what will the answer be in 4 yrs?
I agree, Reagan was and is overrated. |
