Why?

What policy or action does (D) take that so overwhelmingly wins over both these ethnic groups. Specificly.

African Americans are not so crazy about Whites. Republican Party is seen as the white party.

Whites are not so crazy about blacks, that's why whites move when blacks move into white neighborhoods. If Obama was more than half black and looked like Samuel L. Jackson he wouldn't be president.

Not policy or action, its the GOP rhetoric. They continually tell their base that:

1. AAs are welfare junkies who don't want to work. (Part of the 47%)

2. Illegal immigrants (which includes friends and families of Latino citizens) are bankrupting the county and should all be deported.

Don't ask questions to which you already know the answers.

Like I said in the other thread, the black vote is gone now. No chance for Reps to ever crack 10% again.

The Latino vote can be won back though. Latinos share many conservative values about religion, family and even fiscal conservatism. Reps just have to stop alienating them with the "self-deportation" nonsense. Lets secure the borders, make becoming a citizen easier for people and not threaten to deport their families, many of which have children.

That and Rubio heading the ticket in 2016. Latinos will come back.

Forgot to mention. The GOP needs to stop letting the Democrats and liberal media define them as anti-woman b.c of one or two knuckleheads. Republicans are under a microscope and the littlest thing will be blown out of proportion. They need to police themselves and get rid of these loons.

Warfish, your and the Republicans total opposition to the Dream Act is a HUGE reason why Latinos and even and other immigrants like my family strongly supports Democrats. (which passed in Maryland yesterday, and I predict will happen nationally after yesterday's election) It is unacceptable to us to deport children who had no say in coming here illegally. The Dream Act was a Republican idea at one point.

I wouldn't be surprised if more whites go back to the Republican party since it's perceived that the minorities drove this election (actually Republicans blew it themselves). This was really an unusual race, a horrible republican candidate and a half black democratic candidate who isn't seen as threatening to whites. Hilary Clinton isn't exactly Miss Popularity outside of the tri-state area, a decent Republican candidate can beat her. They've got four years, they just need to put some thought into it.
