Intersting Stat

The below list is from an ESPN article talking about Peyton Manning's dicipline and how he rarely gives away points by taking sacks, fumbling etc. I thought it was pretty telling to see sanchez on the list of the worst at that particular category.

Points lost to sacks, fumbles and penalties per 100 plays in 2012:

Sam Bradford -7.47

Mark Sanchez -6.13

Michael Vick -5.96

Cam Newton -5.25

Robert Griffin III -5.24

The combined impact of sacks, fumbles and penalties -- none of which factor into passer rating -- was much greater, an average of minus-4.91 points per 100 plays. As passing yards have increased in recent years, avoiding this category of plays -- maintaining ball discipline -- has grown even more important. The presence of Griffin and Newton on the list to the right highlights the dangers of a running quarterback.

When you get smacked around outside the pocket, bad things happen. But even quarterbacks who aren't too mobile or play behind good offensive lines, such as Joe Flacco or Alex Smith, typically lose a chunk of their yardage to ball-discipline problems. On average, NFL starters lose 30 percent of the expected points they earn by passing to sacks, fumbles and penalties.

One of two things should happen with Sanchez,

1 move him out of the pocket

2 Go back to red, Yellow ,Green plays for him

I think he has ability but no confidence or leadership ability.

Here's another interesting stat from Union-Trib SD:

Since entering the league in 2010, none of Ryan Mathews' 475 carries have gone for 40 or more yards, his longest being 39. In that span, BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Shonn Greene are the only other running backs in the league with 300 or more carries without a 40-yard gain.

Incorrect...Shonn Greene had two 50+ yard carries since 2010...vs Cinn and SD and would have had another in Sucksboro had he not been stopped by the endzone
