I had one repaired in April. Sidelined me from running for close to 2 months, but I'm back up to my normal mileage now. Still hurts a tad, and doc said it probably always will, but nothing like it did prior to the surgery.

That's going to affect your ability to bend over, no doubt.
But seriously, sorry to hear it FF2. I had a meniscus tear/MCL sprain a few years ago; opted against surgery, took it easy for a bit, and was back to 100% in a couple of months. After that, it was more psychological than anything else. Hope you don't need to have it scoped, but if you do, start PT as soon as possible after surgery and follow their program closely for quickest recovery and to avoid future complications. I'm actually 4 weeks post-op from a labrum tear. Miserable experience, mostly because I feel pretty good but can't resume normal strength training for a few months. Not even cleared to run yet because of the stress it puts on the shoulder. I'm a routine freak, and needless to say this threw a wrench in my routine. Here's hoping you have a smooth and uneventful surgical procedure on Monday. And that your knee problems--and pain--will be a thing of the past. |

if the tear is small you can run blood throuhg a tissue in a joint that rarely gets blood, through the use of acupuncture. The reason that surgery is needed is the blood cannot carry the nutrients to the cavity and tissue to heal. acucpuncture can move the blood to that and repair small tears. no md will tell u that partly because they have no clue, partly because they want your money and partly because U.S. doctors are complete bafoons.
