All great football organizations are sound from the top down. Great football organizations make football decisions for football reasons. The Jets got Brett Farve for all the wrong reasons they got him to sell PSL's for the new stadium and would have done just as well or better with Chad Pennington. Woody Johnson sent his puppet Mike Tannabaum to fetch him Brett Farve. The Jets went up and moved up in the draft again for all the wrong reasons so they could get a young franchise QB so he sell PSL's. Woody again told Mike Tannabaum to fetch him Mark Sanchez not caring if he was not experienced in college and only played one season. Woody Johnson wanted more headlines so he to Tannabaum to get him Tebow to sell tickets again for all the wrong reasons. Even Rex Ryan who I think is a quality defense mind was hired because he could drum up lots of headlines so he could sell more tickets. All these moves were not made for football reasons.

The Patriots only make moves for football reasons. The Steelers only make moves for football reasons. The Giants only make moves for football reasons. The top teams in this sport make football moves for football reasons and if there are other intentions in that move they are made with the wrong intent and those teams fail.

Mike Tannenbaum is a puppet for Woody Johnson and on top of that is not a football guy. A top football guy will not be a puppet and be forced to make personal decisions for non-football reasons. Until the Jets get fixed at the top they will not be great, as a Jet fan its hard to come to the realization but unfortunately this is the reality.
+1 i agree w you and thats the scary part if woody is behind all these power QB moves..then he won't truly hold mr.t responsible..and we will have the same regime here going forward..we can only hope all these failed moves have been all mr.t and woody is going to hold him responsible..unfortunately i think its the latter

Yes, but Wisenhunt's a great head coach, and that defense is pretty damned good.

They are 2 o-lineman, a QB, and possibly a corner from being a very real contender in the NFC West.

And that's not even to say that Kolb or Skelton couldn't be better with a decent O-line, which is the worst in football if you watch a single game.

Jerry Jones has a SuperBowl title under his rule.

Woody has a Snoopy-Bowl trophy under his.

'Nuff said.

I've stated this beforehand, but it's worth repeating. The Jets (& Mets for that matter) suffer from the same chronic ailment: weakowneritis. That's the big picture and why the fates of both teams follow similar paths year in and year out. Yes, occasionally like a stopped clock things work out but it's always fleeting success. Any given year there are any number of excuses given, hashed over, analyzed why "this season" didn't pan out. Next season it'll be for "fill in the blank" reason we aren't an elite team. GM's change, coaches change, players change.....the outcome seldom does. Why? Well, true leadership starts at the top and permeates an organization and it's effects are seen in big and small decisions. Over time these "correct" decisions build a strong lasting foundation of success. This is something the Jets organization has no familiarization with. It's really that simple.

THIS. For those of us who have worked for REAL leaders...even if way up the org chart, you know Greentide is right. The bickering in the JETS offices must be brutal. When Woody walks in....everyone is quiet.

Answer is YES he is the worst. The irony is Snider played the Jets and their GM in 2003 with pillaging the jets village in 03.

Because that will be a productive discussion in this atmosphere, right?

Believe what you like cpa. If it makes you feel better to think he the worst owner in sports, so be it.

I guess you can make an argument about the Bills owner but that franchise is in a horrible market and nobody good wants to go there unless you give them a $100 million contract. Jags owner is new and getting the team prepped for the inevitable move to LA.

Jerry Jones - 3 Super Bowl Trophies

Woody - 0

Jerry Jones' biggest fault as an owner is being too loyal to Tony Romo, one of the best QB's in the game. Woody's biggest fault is being too loyal to Tim Tebow, one of the worst QB's in the game. Hmmm.

Next.

Woody has the midas touch. Mitt Romney, Tim Tebow - can he pick winners or what?

Woody has only been at it for around 12 years, so no. He and his family are not wrapped to tight, this could be a problem.

Haha, that's a great find. This organization is such a debacle...decade after decade after decade...
