Hearing Aaron Maybin showed up at the #Jets Food Bank charity event today, then got the call and left. #nyj

#Jets gave Maybin a 325K signing bonus this year. Ended up playing in only 119 snaps, 18.8% of teams plays. #nyj

True.

Also he made the fatal error of not settling into a specialist. He was the 11th overall pick and felt he was better than just a pure pass rusher. He put on muscle weight in the off season attempting to be an every down player (logically figuring he could take a spot from our feeble OLB's). In doing so he cost himself a step and lacks the explosiveness that allowed him his only effective move - a pure outside speed rush.

Had he kept his speed, he may have kept some production.

What's crazy is that Maybin had one more tackle than me this year. LOL.

Do you think these idiots are finally clueing into the fact that our OLBs just reek? It always takes Tanny and Rex a good two full years before they realize how bad a specific position is.

Definitely a disappointment this year. I never bought into the hype as much as other fans but I did expect more than we have gotten this year. Once there was some tape on him, the league adjusted and he never recovered.

He was a training camp wonder, beating up on our scrubs.

I wish him the best of luck.

325K bonus and 75K workout bonus were given to reduce his cap by 245K. May have been gone much sooner if they hadnt paid up front #Jets

Almost every decision #Jets have made to guarantee money for reduced cap counts has backfired- Scott, Pace, Sanchez, Maybin, Holmes, etc...

Its hard to believe so many moves have gone sour for the #jets. Bad decisions but awful luck. Other than Cro nobody has worked in 2 years

Seems like he's a good guy. The segment I saw about his daughter being stillborn was very moving. I can't imagine the pain of having a child born dead after nine months of waiting for a kid.

That being said, this was the right move.

Best of luck for him down the road in the NFL, except against the Jets.

I think he will do well elsewhere.

Rex has proved he has no clue when it comes to pass rushers in his time with the Jets.

It has become crystal clear that Rex has no ability to develope talent.

When he was with the Ravens he had Talent, Reed, Lewis, Suggs, etc so he looked real good. With the Jets the only guy that I believe he has gotten alot out of considering his abilities is Mike Devito. In the grand scheme of things he has developed no one.
