One of biggest disappointments of this year.... they were talking him up in camp and preseason..... It would have been nice to see this player build on what he was able to achieve last year...
Frankly, he isn't the only player they needed to get rid of... Their roster is full of talentless players... |

So you are still blaming Rex Ryan? Is it his fault that the Jets have found not one pass rusher (not one!) in the seven offseasons since John Abraham was traded? That time period covers three Jet coaches. To quote Lebron James, that's not 1 offseason... not 2... not 3... Is it Rex Ryan's fault that he's asked to turn garbage into gold? Is it his fault we have no pass rush, or would another coach do better with the likes of Maybin, Ricky Sapp, Calvin Pace, Garrett McIntyre, et al? I'm not a Ryan apologist, but he is not the root of the problem. Just like Mangini wasn't. Do you honestly think this GM deserves to hire his third head coach and pick his third starting QB? At what point do you point the finger at him? |

Maybin seems like just another example of poor player development on the Jets. He obviously had some talent last year but got much worse in 2012. What exactly are the Jets coaching staff doing with this team ? Aren't coaches supposed to help players get better ??
It seems like almost every guy either stagnates or gets worse when he puts on a Jets uniform. |

Didn't Maybin's "personal coach" move on after last season? I seem to recall hearing that last off-season. May be that was a factor.

This guy was a HUGE BUST.....Gholston status. Buffalo cut him of all teams. Rex brings him in and revives his career, gets something out of nothing.....but you can only mask deficiencies for so long. And its Rex's fault this guy isn't a pro bowler??? Sent from my LG-P999 |

Yeah there really aren't many to be honest.
You can add Devito and Pouha as a couple nobody's that Rex got quality production out of. Wilkerson is definitely beasting as of late and improved. Coples, while still very early in his career, has shown improvement as well. I also liked Trufant and Lankster as CBs and think they have improved from nothing to give something. Kyle Wilson has been a disappointment overall, but has actually improved, although still not what we expected with a 1st rounder. Cromartie without question has improved immensely under Rex. He and the DB coach have really got to him and turned him into a true student of the game, where as before he relied too much on his God Given abilities. Sent from my LG-P999 |

Wilkerson looks better than last year. DeVito quietly had a great game last week, better than 3 years ago. Pouha, till he hurt his back, not Rex's fault. Cro looks better here than when he was in SD There was nothing to develop with Maybin, he is just a speed guy who bulked up and lost 1/2 a step. Most of his sacks were effort plays where he shot by the QB, turned around, and got back to him. |
