Unhappy No More Twinkies....

Hostess is going out of business - better stock up on any Twinkies or Ding Dongs you find, because it will be the last of them.

Back in the 60s and 70s, I ate a billion Twinkies, Devil Dogs, Coffee Cake Jrs. (very underrated), Yodels, Snow Balls, Yankee Doodles, and the individual fruit pies (berry was my favorite).

A few years ago, I bought a pack of Twinkies for my son to try. They sucked. Can't figure out if they changed the recipes, or we had crappy palates back then.

No more Wonder bread either.

Friggin Union voted themselves out of their jobs.

Seems like a huge niche to be filled by someone with the resources and the wherewithal to deal with the Union, no?

I don't know all the details but I never quite understood the theory behind voting to put a company out of business and losing your job instead of settling.

Why?

The rights and recipies will be sold off, and one of the big Agra companies will buy it up and produce/sell them.

The business is gone, the Twinkie lives on.

Like poker....

I guess they found out that Hostess wasnt bluffing.

I'm not union bashing, but it seems like their leadership guessed badly.

I find it difficult to feel sorry for people who are unemployed because they voted themselves out of work.

No one will buy Twinkies made by someone with a torn meniscus.

I was always a Drakes devotee over Hostess. At some point I think they were combined, or at least owned by the same Company. They both made the Fruit Pies but the Drakes Apple Pie was much better, IMO.

Could possibly be the worst food for you ever, but there was nothing better than stopping at a Rest Stop and getting a Drakes Apple Pie or Funny Bones (my personal favorite). Preferably both.
