Time to lose the knee brace,Mark..

Why does mark still wear the knee brace?...Serious question, does anyone here know why he still wears it...I remember his rookie year he hurt it and we went in to the "slide" mode..But has there been recent damage to the knee?..If not he needs to get rid of it and start using his legs...

Agreed, if he takes off the knee brace tomorrow I see the season being turned around. Rex/Tanny jobs are safe. JI community backs up from the cliff and decides to line up for some PSLs.

Right.

I'm pretty sure he wears it for additional stability of the knee that he had repaired a couple of years ago. It was a subluxation suffered originally in college, not that unusual to wear stabilization braces to prevent it from occurring again.

Why do a number of football players wear knee braces?

bad knee = weak knee = knee brace for stability and injury protection. No
big deal. Lots of players wear knee braces.

He started wearing it in college.

I think the one he wears now is much bulkier. I guess his knee has gotten worse with age. He also injured it during his rookie season which cost him a game.

Some OL wear them even if they don't need them. They add stability and prevent lateral movement of the joints/tendons.

The old USFL required all offensive lineman to wear knee braces. It is just an extra layer of protection.

Dont you remember, he quit wearing it his second season, took a brady shot and Rex made him start wearing it again. Here it is:

Will the knee become a problem in 2022 when he is finally developed as a NFL QB?

Dont want to go dumping the fiture of the team on him if his knee is iffy.

Who cares that he is a scared , off target, pick 6 machine on the field, were gonna need that knee healthy for the playoff push of '22.

Mark had a patella dislocation.. sometimes that's a freak injury, other times it can be due to genetics (I've also had the injury and it's probability is higher for me due to the mechanics of my knee). A knee brace doesn't do anything to hinder play.

Sure it can, it can be adjusted to protect the mobility or lack there of in the bending of the knee although they are much improved from my Lenox Hill Joe Namath brace I would much rather not have to wear a brace.

Okay just stop it.

Whether Mark wears a Knee Brace or not is not the reason for his crappy QB-play this year.

Nice thread.

My college required all lineman to wear knee braces...Syracuse. Don't know if they still do but they did during the Macpherson/Pasqualoni era.
