15-20 for 178 doesnt really indicate a ton of chemistry with anyone.

We need mark to go into alex smith mode. DONT TURN IT OVER and hope that the running game gets going now that powell is getting more touches and him and mcknight are healthy

The fact he had completions to 10 different receivers suggests that he isnt really comfortable or has chemistry with any of them. Guys have been in and out of the line up all year. Spread the ball around, dont fumble, and see where the chips fall.

It honestly could have been an 18-20 day with over 200 yards without the drops and Hill boneheadedness. In fact, he probably would have easily thrown for over 200 yards without the bone-headed "Tebow insertions" into the game.

Sanchez played well...even the best QBs in the world have passes batted from their hands when players completely WHIFF on pass protection.

Let's hope Mark builds on yesterdays performance against the weak NE secondary.

Break 300 yards regularly and sustain 60% completion percentage for a season........nevermind. I'm the only one who realizes that's what's needed by a Super Bowl QB.

Alex Smith is awful. They just have such a dominant O-line, great RB, strong WR core and the best TE in football that they make him look alright.

Which is why if Smith doesn't play tonight, most NFL fans are psyched to see Kaepernick.

It's interesting, too:

Smith's guaranteed money is at high-end backup levels after this season on that 3 year deal they signed him to.

That's a good organization.

I think next year, assuming the Niners can retain that defense, Kaepernick wins them a Super Bowl with some inhuman 3500+ yards passing, 600+ yards rushing 40 TD Season.

Spot on, especially the first paragraph. Sanchez is serviceable, but you got to give the guy NFL caliber WR's, before all blame falls on him.

Oline let up 4 sacks

Wide Receivers dropped passes

But for some reason, we won today and got blown out of seattle. What could possibly be the reason?

Oh - our QB actually did his job, managed the game, and most importantly didnt turn the ball over at all. 4 sacks, NONE of which killed the team because he didnt fumble.

The supporting cast didnt get better today (although Powell needs to be getting 20 + carries per week) what changed was the QB play....which really should end the debate of everyone else being blamed when sanchez plays poorly
Wilkerson is really starting to play at a high level. He was a stud yesterday.

McKnight also had a good and needs to get more carries too. Powell and McKnight should be getting the carries and move Greene to late game power running...

Proof of SAR concept?

D played great, running game played well, Mark did almost nothing. We won.

Correct, the "nothing" most importantly includes no "negative" plays. When Sanchez avoids the negative plays he is solidly an average NFL QB.... but who isn't?

Playing the Rams every week would help as well.

I actually think the opposite as yesterday was very very similar to the seattle game minus the 2 backbreaking INTs.

We ran the ball better yesterday, but still averaged about 3 yards a carry, so nothing spectacular.

WRs still dropped 2 passes

Oline gave up 4 sacks

And somehow we won????

Just my opinion but it could be the lack of back-breaking interceptions in the redzone, fumbles on sacks, and 3 and outs that kept our D on the field the entire second half.

Its not all on 1 guy....but its way more on mark then it is on the "other pieces"

We won because the defense played well.

3 forced fumbles, 1 int
13 points, and 6 of them came in garbage time.
Held the Rams to 15 first downs all day.

Mark Sanchez/the offense did nothing special themselves…
Against a better team (like the Pats this week) they will need to play better.

I expect Sanchez to suck it up. Even if he plays well and throws for some yards and td’s….
There will be some sort of boneheaded mistake(s) that gives the game to the Pats.

That is just the way he rolls.

You kinda forgot about Blackmon, you know the guy that caught 7 passes for 236 yards yesterday. So yes they have one pretty good weapon in the making over there.

Here, in Jet land? Clyde f'n Gates got the most snaps at WR yesterday.

Like Buzz said, even if we do get a new better QB, still need a bunch of pieces to threaten other teams with. Right now we have NOTHING.
It's been said over and over but the Jets have done nothing to support Sanchez, everyone is just hoping he turns into Manning and lifts everyone around him.

I personally think Sanchez just comes down to whether he can pitch strikes... Too many games he shows up and just can't throw with any accuracy. Don't think it has anything to do with gameplans or anything.

Last New England game he showed up and was pretty accurate, this past game too. Too many other games where he' sjust not hitting spots.

The Defense gave up the tying FG leading to OT after Mark got them the lead late in regulation. But yeah....That's how he rolls.

Look, I'm no fan of Mark. I want him out of here but let's be realistic here :

If the Defense did its job late, that would've been a Jets Victory over at Foxboro, PERIOD.

Mark did do what he had to do, the defense or -EFENSE did not.

THE END.

New England's defense just crapped on Luck.

And Luck is better than Sanchez while being surrounded by slightly better talent in Wayne.

This game will not be pretty. New England's defense, with all that young talent is starting to hit its stride. Talib was an outstanding acquisition for essentially nothing and he had a pick 6 days after joining the squad.

This is an entirely different New England team than the first matchup. The defense is starting to gel.

This will not be close. Especially with the short week which gives New England an advantage.

The argument about the defense is an interesting one.

Vs Rams - we forced 3 fumbles, recovered 2 and had an INT

Vs Seattle - we forced 3 fumbles, recovered 2 and had a defensive TD

Yet people posted that the defense got ran over late vs seattle and were dominating yesterday. We still struggled with run yesterday, but the actual difference was the offense didnt put the D in a short field or keep them on the field getting gassed the entire second half.

What a HUGE difference it was just taking the sacks yesterday without fumbling. Thats what we need him to do. Sanchez's turnovers affect more then just the a lack of offensive points, his bad play can kill the entire team and the last 2 games showed exactly that.
