As for the Captain Lawrence Brewery, I had a great time tasting their beers. If you're close by, it's definitely worth a trip. No better place to sample their brews than right where they make it.
Check out Shiner "Cheer". Good winter beer.

Just looked that up on their site. Thought the peach/pecan idea was interesting. Not too overpowering and sweet, I hope?

Which are their best beers?

Later today I'm doing Pliny the Elder vs Heady Topper. We'll see who the best Double IPA in America is.

If you're like me, it's not even close. I'm not even putting Pliny in the top five.

Abner is the best Hill Farmstead. You may have got saisons because their hop stuff is the best.

Heady topper was better than Pliny.

Heady is so pungent and overpowering that it makes anything else taste pretty thin. In a taste test it should definitely go last. Heady to Pliny is like comparing a zinfandel to a pinot noir. I had a Pliny by itself once and I enjoyed it more.

Had some of Sierra Nevada's Celebration last night. Excellent brew, but you had better love hops. Wow, do those folks pack a punch with boatloads of hoppy bitterness.

How does it compare to Dogfish 60 min IPA? I like hops but this is my favorite by far.

I know it's not beer, but Woodchuck is all I drink these days.

I plan on assailing my liver with these all day tomorrow -

It's heaven. Like drinking a beer and having apple & pumpkin pie all at once.

T3 was very fond of that Cupcake Brand red too... supposedly for his wife.

Is there a CannaCorner to discuss the latest cannibis strains from around the globe?

Have not had the Dogfish is quite a while. If I find some this weekend to compare, I'll let you know.

Have a great Thanksgiving.

If you can find it try the Woodchuck Fall edition. One of the best ciders I have ever tasted. Very hard to find in Florida though.

That one seems to have eluded me in this market. I've had all 3, but have never found the fall one yet. There are still a few other varieties that I still need to try as well.

Frankly they are the only ones that seem to make it right - granted there are not that many others out there but they all seem to taste gross. Other notable excepts are Original Sin and Angry Orchard is just ok.

Also just picked up the Ginger one, should be interesting.

I like cider, but the sweetness gets to me after a bit. But, on certain occasions, a snakebite (1/2 beer half cider) is the perfect drink. Not too sweet, but refreshing. Put it with a stout (a black velvet I think) and it works too.

Haven't tried the pumpkin one though....Might look for it this weekend. My wife digs the cider.
