Started drinking already. Too soon?

I need to start creating my alcohol forcefield a couple of hours prior to my inlaws arriving. I need to create an aura of numbness.

Sooo, by what quarter do we think the Lions will be completely out of this game? My guess is around 9:00 to go in the 3rd

Ugh, finally finished eating 3 plates of food 20 minutes ago.
Had to endure the drama of the "the button didn't pop but the turkey looks done" nonsense.

Also that was a hell of an entertaining early game. I still think the Lions got hosed though - so why couldnt they not review the play?

All I have to say is watching football with my mother in law in the room is the absolute worst. If they are still here when the Jets game starts, I am heading to the downstairs non-HD television.

In her defense she really isn't all there from her dementia and what not.
Which is precisely why I drink heavily before they arrive...for patience.

Anyway, back to my current point. She never knows if its the first quarter, 2nd, overtime, etc. So anytime the crowd or the announcer raises their voice, so does she:

I hope we show up tonight. Last two Thursday night games we played I think we're Denver and Cinncy and we sucked on offense in both games.

Yeah but we won the game vs Cincy when we were home.
All we can hope is that we're still in it in the 4th qtr and then see who steps up.

Kids were beyond awful. The girl refused to nap today and the boy napped too long (I told my wife we had to wake him, but noooooo). Got to family's house at 4:30 and home by 7. If we were in public rather than with family we would have lasted five minutes instead of a few hours. Both kids are asleep now, I plan on finishing a magnum of wine before the game starts and switching to beer. Worst Thanksgiving ever, topped by my grandmother laughingly telling me I was worse than my daughter at that age. Whatever b***h.

Edit: still love you grandma, but knock it off.
