Late round draft picks > your failing qb's friends from high school > players that don't even make it past the second round of cuts

Letting your coach, who has no personnel experience, and no experience on the offensive side of the ball, waste a 5th round pick on a player because you liked how he hit someone once.

1. We have Revis. We have Rex. We don't need things like a passrush on D.
2. We have ground and pound. We had ground and pound. We get Sparano and Tebow, we'll have ground and pound again. 3. We have some WRs. It doesn't matter who they are because of the two points above - We have defense, and we have ground and pound. ![]()

Our defense never recovered from the loss of Kerry Rhodes.
Our offense never recovered from the two departures on the offensive line. Also, the deterioration of the RB and WR spots is obvious. |

Here's the bottom line....and it doesn't get any more straight forward than this. Three of the most important people in the entire football organization are the GM, the head coach, and the quarterback.
Our GM should be an accountant/Cap guy. Our HC should be a defensive coordinator. Our starting QB should be a backup QB. In other words, at 3 key positions in the football organization we have guys who are in over their heads IMO. They're all close...but just not quite good enough do the exact job they're in the position of doing. |

We traded away draft picks, we signed older players to long deals, and when you do that you give yourself a window to be a contender. Holmes and Revis being out for the year hurts too, even though everyone has injuries in this league and they wouldn't have helped tonight.
Two of our three or four most important core players are Mark Sanchez and David Harris. We expected them to progress; they regressed. Coaching hasn't been great under adversity. There are a ton of reasons why we aren't a good team - and I still don't think we're down there with the worst in the league yet. We've been pretty spoiled, and unless we catch fire with something out of nowhere it will probably have to be a big rebuild. |
