Fireman Ed's Replacement!
“Move over Fireman Ed, Jetman is in the MetLife House”
Seems that Fireman Ed, (Ed Anzalone) has retired from his self-appointed Jets mascot position due to “fan confrontations" over quarterback controversy and an overall tough season. So who will lead the fans now? Fear not, Jets fans. There’s a new mascot in town! Well, actually, he’s not so new. A die hard Jets fan since he could walk and say "green," Jetman has been attending Jets games since he was a kid, and rousing cheers for tried-and-true Jets fans as Jetman for over ten years. And if ever a tried season there was, it would be this one. With a less than stellar record of 4-7-0, cheering can be tough. And divided or not over quarterbacks or coaching, fans need a mascot who can handle the agony of defeat as well as the thrill of victory. Seated in section 140, leading the crowd in Jets cheers, Jetman delivers what every mascot should—exuberance and true fandom. Who else but a dedicated leader would wear green beads and tights? Tailgating without fail on the curb in L5, Jetman attends every home game, arriving in his ‘decked-out for NFL game time’ Jetvan all the way from New Hampshire. Music, food, drink and cheer is what he brings to enthusiastic game goers who only hope for a win. When asked about the team and their tough current NFL standing, Jetman touted, “We always need to stand by our team...especially when the team is having problems. We aren't mathematically eliminated from making the playoffs. There’s always hope.” And there’s always Jetman. So sit down Fireman Ed; your position has been filled. When asked to comment about Fireman Ed’s resignation, Jetman stated “I think when your team is is struggling...it’s time for fans to step up, not down.” Well said, Jetman. So let’s go Jets! J-E-T-S Jets, Jets Jets! |

I nominate Captain Jet. Not sure if people know who he is but you see him at the games. He wears a green Jets shirt, green pants, a black cape with Captain Jet on it. I vote for him. He is classic. If anyone has a pic please post. Thanks.

The jets have gone done hill since Fireman Ed stopped sitting on his brother's shoulders. Just leaning over the railing, waiving your helmet, isn't going to do it.

The way this season is going I fully expect to see an outburst of self appointed Jets mascot on mascot violence before the season is through.

Cool, sounds good to me. He needs to let the Jets know so the video boards know who to focus on. Should be comical Sunday with all the people trying to be the next Fireman Ed.
