You might be right about Tebow. I've also said the guy is a horrible QB. But at this point I want to see what he can do because I know exactly what we have in Mark Sanchez and I'm about 99% sure about McElroy. At least Tebow is fun to watch because of his energy and his big play ability. McElroy is boring. Period. Brooks Bollinger Part 2. And some of you are actually excited about this. I'd be more excited if we cut McElroy and signed Drew Henson. |

This is the NFL. Teams can only have 46 guys on their active game roster and only those 46 can play. Are you really suggesting that for all those games where McElroy was inactive, that he was really the #2 ? As for what the coaches think about Tebow, you are making a huge PRESUMPTION with no actual evidence to back it up. You say that they didn't replace Sanchez because they think Tebow sucks. Here's an alternative scenario: Rex continued to remain doggedly loyal to Sanchez and ONLY AFTER Sanchez had thrown 3 INTs in one half, two passes that should have been intercepted in a MUST WIN GAME, Rex finally decided that enough was enough and he sent a replacement in. As Tebow was out due to injury, that replacement was McElroy. As for what I want, this will probably seem strange to you, but what I want is for my team to win. Secondary to that is to see Tebow play. As it happens, I really do believe that Tebow is a better option that McElroy, even running the exact same offense. Power running game and taking shots down the field. If you want to go further, I would change the offense up just a bit. First, I'd put Powell in as the main RB. I'd then change some of the Shotgun handoff running plays to Zone Read as it would make the running game more of a threat. Each play is still basically the same, only have to change 1 blocking assignment on each of them really. Other than that, I'd call the game the same way it was called for Sanchez and for McElroy. |

I don't think that it really mattered if Sanchez went down one game and Tebow came in. It is not as though either backup is that big a deal... He dressed Tebow to play injured against New England. Rex obviously felt that he need Tebow if Sanchez went down. Regardless, we are all guessing and have no idea nor does it matter. I think Tebow is no better than what he have been watching for the past 12 games if not worse. Just my opinion. Lets see what the next 4 weeks bring.... |

They gave up a 4th round pick for Tebow, or to put it more concisely, Woody Johnson gave up a 4th round pick for Tebow. He has to be the backup to justify that trade as being more then just for attention. It is probably no coincidence that the game Tebow is inactive is the game Sanchez gets pulled. Rex wanted no part of Tebow Time and neither do the Jets players. Remember, those are the same guys who said he was "terrible" and nothing more then an "athlete".

what about the SUCKCHEZ fans that only root for their loser of a QB and screw the Jets! As I see it Suckys fans are as bad as Tebow's fans. Only they don't know it.

Don't feel like doing the research right now, but short version is that teams with established "Franchise QBs" wouldn't have been interested as they were definitely set at the position. Same with teams with guys who they believe to be their franchise QBs. Even teams that had young guys that they are trying to develop to be their franchise QBs wouldn't have been interested as they already had invested in their young QBs development. I'm not trying to claim that Tebow is a finished, polished product, or that he's top10 -15 in the NFL at this point. Rather, what I'm saying is that he is a young QB who did pretty well last year given the situation, and that with some time to develop, he might just turn out to be very good. What I'm absolutely rejecting is the notion that he "isn't an NFL QB and never will be". |

And you have no idea if it was coincidence or not. As I mentioned either here in this thread or in another one, this was the first "must win game" that we faced this year. Coaches tend to do things a bit differently when faced with missing the playoffs. |

Supposedly, by everyone else's logic around here, it means that McElroy most definitely sucks. I mean, come on, Tebow with cracked ribs dressing over a healthy McElroy ? As for the next 4 weeks, I think they will be very interesting, especially around here

Next year, Demo will you be using the Demosthenes9 ID to post at JagwiresFans.com campaigning for your adored St Teblow or will you change it to something like JagTimfan that fits better

Tebow moves the chains with his legs. Get used to it.
Lots of haters, but McElroy is the best QB in the world. Savior of the franchise. Really sad. |
