On the bright side...

Rex still remains clueless about how to handle in-game management!

Case in point- first half, it's a 3rd down play where Keller is going to the sideline and stretches the ball to what appears to be past the first down marker. The referees mark the ball short of the 1st down, making it 3rd and inches from about the 40 yardline or so. Dummy throws his challenge flag and they actually reverse the call on the field, giving the Jets a first down and extending the drive without having to go for it on 4th and inches. At the time I'm saying, this is retarded to challenge a play over a half yard spot, in the first half, when you have an entire half of football left, and if you miss your next challenge, you're out of challenges in a close game where the referees might potentially miss a humungous play, and you're left without any challenges.

Sure enough, early in the second half the Jets have a play that they need to challenge, which of course they don't end up getting, leaving themselves exposed for the entire rest of the game without any challenges, in a 3 or 6 point game, which is beyond inexcusable. But meanwhile, Rexy did gain that half yard in the first half, so it's all good, right? Imagine sometime down the road in an actual meaningful game, this coaching staff has the game management acumen of Herman Edwards, 4 years on the job. On the bright side though, there probably aren't going to be too many meaningful games to have to worry about in the next couple years, so maybe there's no reason to care about minor details like this in the first place?

To counter that ... they did have Greene take a knee on that last drive to run out the clock, rather than scoring to make the victory look a little more convincing. Lots of good teams don't get that one right (even in the Superbowl ).

Was that a Rex/Coaching call? I thought it was just Shonn being heads-up.

They just did that to save the $250 donation that they would've had to make through XBOX 360 Kinect to charity, so that explains that...
