Gholston, Sanchez, Wilson, Ducasse Oops I forgot Keller. ![]() At the very least we got no impact players. THAT is how you destroy a roster in 3 years. |

After next season the only guy left could be Wilson. Not good.

As for Sanchez lots of teams liked him and the Jets only gave up a 2d and bunch of JAGS to jump to the 6th slot to get him....the colossal mistake was giving him big money when no one else would....same with holmes |

Over the past 5 years, no team has drafted worse than the New York Jets. End of story.

This post again points to how bad Tannebaum has been as a GM. If you want to go further his Director of Pro Personnel is Terry Bradway the GM before him. Hopefully Woody sees this and cleans house and brings in a new GM and Director of Pro Personnel.
Besides the drafts can anyone say we have brought in an impact free agent? All have played a role but nothing to write home about. He did have good trades for Edwards, Holmes for a year (before last year), and Cromartie I'll say we did well with the others not so much. So lets see what Tannebaum has done. He has given us bad drafts (a few keepers), bad contracts with aging veterans, and a complete mess at the qb position which many will say is the most important position on a football team. Thanks Tannebaum we appreciate it. |

Not good, but there's a surprising amount of suck in the 2nd round generally. I'm willing to bet that if you list 10 years of second rounders for just about any NFL team, you will find a bevy of cringe-worthy picks.

No he wasn't, he was awful. We cut him after his rookie contract was up and not one team picked him up. He was so overrated by Jets fans.

As for Tanny - how many GMs survive 2 failed coaching regimes, a failed hand picked QB and another top 5 pick in Gholston? Throw in the truly horrific Holmes contract, trading too many draft picks with no depth and back to back no playoff seasons....he's gotta go |

Fair point but I believe that they extended it - so the team could have been rid of him after this season if Tanny didnt get cute and do the extension. At least that is arguable - who the heck was going to pay Holmes anything close that the Jets were offering?

Whats bad about the Hobson pick was that the 2 of the next 3 picks right after Hobson that year were Anquan Boldin and Osi Umenyiora.

Both were #6 picks. Obviously you have to give credit to the 49ers for taking the right player and give blame to the Jets for taking the wrong one. But, they were both roundly considered the appropriate pick in their respective slots. Its not like the 49ers did anything that any of us here couldn't have done. One panned out. One didn't. Anyone know what Vernon Gholston is doing these days? Apart from him morning swim in his money bin. |

I couldn't stand Hobson. I was embarrassed he was actually starting for us, yet alot of fans liked him for some reason. We cut him finally, the Pats gave him a short preseason sniff and cut him as well. From there not one team picked him up for a look even though he was like 27/28 years old in the prime of his career. It was mind boggling how bad he was.
