That's a good argument why we might be screwed next year. Your hypothesis was we're screwed for five years. It's in your title. You haven't made a single cogent argument why such might be the case. Why does clinging desperately to a mistake like Sanchez give us a better opportunity to change course on this trainwreck, rather than benching his worthless ass does?

Maybe five years is overstated, but if you look at the history of teams that draft qb's high in the first round, harrington, leaf, ramsey, the list goes on, these teams take years to recover.
In most cases, you will suffer through at least 2 really bad years. I dont want that.
I want Sanchez to work, not because I like the guy, but for the team.

Yes... And most of them are busts... Hell, even the ones who are solid are a waste of time. The teams that win are the teams who have that great QB. You just keep drafting until you find that great QB.

It sucks but we missed with Sanchez. As most teams do in the first round..

the jets did not even with the division either year and lost in the conference game. In 68 the won the whole thing and in 69 they won the division.

2) No one in the Jets organization can properly evaluate college talent (just look at the last couple of drafts).

3) Thanks to Tanny's ridiculous contracts, Jets have the worst cap situation in the NFL.

Quite possibly the dumbest post I have seen in a while. First of all he has already failed. Second, acknowledging that now gives the Jets the chance to recover, not doom them for 5 more years. Your post is completely ridiculous

Basically you are right, but you can use Ryan, and Flacco as better examples if they don't get to the promised land, and maybe they will, there is a possible 5 years wasted, hell McNabb had 10 years. Additionally, this team has more than just a QB issue on O. Stick to your guns.

That sounds like SOJ BS.. Jets 1-15 in 96... AFCCG 12-4 2 years later.. Fins 1-15 in 07.. 08 11-5 with Chaddy and made the Playoffs..

so the Bucs and Falcons are next. 1st round QBs who have zero playoff wins. They might have success in the regular season but it doesn't mean a thing if you can win (or even get to) the playoffs.
