And Norv would easily be my first choice for new OC.

And who knows? Maybe he vouches for one of his former QB's like Alex Smith or (fingers crossed) Philip Rivers. Supposedly San Diego is serious about a total overhaul, and there's a chance that Rivers could be available.

In a weak draft with no real top end talent, would you trade a 1st for Rivers?

I probably would
One could dream. That would be so perfect to pair both Rivers and Turner with Rex and his defense.

sigh...back to sanchez.

Why would you take Smith as GM?

Despite the fact that Rivers is light years better than Sanchez...

You guys do realize Rivers has been a complete turnover machine since 2011, right? We'd have just as much whining and complaining as we do now.

Ride out the storm one more year next year and retool for 2014. Next year is all about replenishing depth and addressing some needs that have been ignored for quite some time (like a legitimate pass rusher).

Doubt Norv would wanna work with Rex especially after their spat last year.

Now Hue Jackson would be much more realistic. He's a very good OC, plus him & Rex are friends and used to work together in Baltimore.

Why would Norv want to come to the Jets? Ryan insulted him in the past and its not like Norv will have to beg for an OC job. #Jets

Agreed he built some talented teams but he also hired and retained Norv Turner as his head coach at least 5 years longer than he should have. That tells me all I need to know about his judgment. And anyone who says they want Norv on this staff is out of his mind. Yes, the Cowboys were successful with him there. They also had arguably the best offensive line of all time, and a HOF QB, RB and WR. Do not be fooled. No winning organization should even think about hiring Norv. Put it out of your mind.

Having said that, it would be such a typical Jet move to hire him, you can all but count on it happening.

I completely agree.

Which is why we need to pay him a lot OR get rid of Rex.

But will Norv want to work under a rookie HC?

Basically we are going to have to outbid everyone AND pray.

He has a better football background than Tanny and he helped build some of those stacked charger teams with tons of talent (not his fault Marty choked in playoffs and norv sucks). He drafted stars like rivers, vincent jackson, sproles, cromartie, gates, merriman (when he was good/juicing). He has a much stronger body of work than Tanny I think.

He was a former jets coach. Then again he's been a former coach for just about every NFL team.

Norv would be a perfect OC for the Jets.

IF we got rid of Rex, would Norv be willing to work under a rookie HC?

I am assuming, IF we fired Rex, our next HC would be a rookie HC.

That we fire Rex and hire a rookie HC?

It went over your head.

See my reply.

This has been a rough year for you with Bray Bray and Mark. We should cut you some slack.

Aahh! Okay.

*that's* what you were saying.

The way you worded the previous post before sounded like you said that Rex was the HC and Norv was coming in to be the OC under him....

SEE, DIMITRI? *THIS* IS HOW YOU RESPOND TO PEOPLE!

Rex is not going to fire Sparano after one year, with injuries this team has had all year on offense. Firing two OC's in conecutive years would not look good on Rex.

Sparano is not the problem anyway, he has been working with a rotational line-up every week all year.

Sparano is absolutely part of the problem.

He's an inexperienced playcaller who implements an ultra conservative offense and doesn't really seem to have a plan in place. We heard him talk about the wildcat all offseason and it has been a total non-factor. We still have an identity crisis as well. Are we a running team or do we want to spread the field?

This was a terrible hire from the get-go.

Why the hell we chose to go with him over a guy like Todd Haley or Bruce Arians, I have no clue.
