Only with Jets fans...

can winning be considered a cardinal sin.

I know their opponents are crappy bit it doesn't make a difference.

Patriots last year went 14-2 and didn't beat a winning team until the playoffs.
None of their fans complained about the quality of opponent.

Jets fans either want 13-3 and a Super Bowl victory or 3-13 and a house cleaning. The failures of logic is unbelievable.

They are 6-7. They are an average team with a mediocre QB and and a solid defense. They also have a few key injuries. These are the facts.

Accept them.

They are an average Defense with a crappy QB and an easy schedule. Be realistic.

Average= solid
mediocre= crappy

The easy schedule was a given which is not controlled by the Jets.

I agree with everything you said except mediocre QB Sanchez is a bad QB. With a mediocre QB this team likely has two to three more wins and in prime position for a playoff spot

But I'm on board three weeks left and we are it - lets go Jets!!!

Exactly, be realistic.

They have a shot at a playoff berth.

No, they want a championship. And when they recognize a regime that will NEVER GET THEM THERE, they want to change that. Winning right now does nothing to help this franchise long term. If you don't recognize that, fine. But don't act like people are idiots for looking long term instead of at meaningless games in a meaningless season. Imagine if Indy had won a couple more last year to please fans like yourself and ultimately missed out on Luck.

So players are getting injured and are fighting hard in a season which you call meaningless. Say that to their face.

John Madden, Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy, Tom Landry: Four head coaches that stayed with their teams a long time before winning a championship.

so let's get this straight.

They want a championship...

but getting into the playoffs this year, where the championship you desire is awarded, hurts the team.

I guess the teams that stay home this January will have a better chance at the Lombardi than the 12 in the playoffs.

That's where the logic fails. Either 13-3 and a title or 3-13 and clean house

The fans don't recognize the presence of a variable called luck.

We have no QB. We have mediocre skill players. Why any Jets fan desires to see this team get annihilated by the Pats or Broncos in the playoffs is baffling.

Winning a Superbowl is all that matters. We have zero weapons on offense. If we make the playoffs, how are we going to get to the Superbowl? Nobody cares about the opponents records. We just know we stink on offense.

So it's better to not make the playoffs at all then to go to the playoffs and get beat in the first round.

Does the saying "Tis better to have love and lost than never to have loved at all mean anything to you?

LOL

You people are goofy as hell if you think this team is making the playoffs.

Thankfully San Diego will put those hopes to rest soon.

I don't think they will. But that's not the point.

The point is winning is winning. Losing is losing. That's it.

To have the attitude that winning is actually losing is illogical and it doesn't make sense.

Ha. The problem is luck carries you only so far if you don't have the talent. See the '09/'10 Jets and the '11 Giants.

The late '90s Jets happened because Rich Kotite utterly imploded in ''95/'96. Imagine if Richie had squeaked out 7-9 or '8-8. You would have been psyched. And he would have gotten another year or two, or three. And imagine where this franchise would have been.

As for telling players the games are meaningless... what a ridiculous comment. Again, imagine another win or two by Indy last year. Would have felt great for those players. How would it have impacted the franchise to miss out on Luck?

Let's talk in the offseason if the Jets finish with a 5 game winning streak but just miss the playoffs. Woody uses it as an excuse to keep everyone in place, and we're here again next year. Awesome. The endless cycle of mediocrity continues. Exactly what we've been used to for 30+ years.

Winning is great. Sadly the Jets have done that only 6 times this year and may not win another game.
