Would you do this?

Sign Josh Hamilton (4 years/$100 million) and than trade Curtis Granderson to the Texas Rangers for prospect Mike Olt, who would become our new 3B.

I'd love the move. We could plug Gardner in CF where he is more valuable, and have Ichiro and Hamilton at the corners. A-Rod becomes full time DH when he gets back with Olt at the hot corner becoming our new right handed power bat, which we desperately need. He's also from the area. New Haven, CT

For the record, I'm not very high on Hamilton because of his injury history, but we would need to replace Granderson's left handed power. I wouldn't go more than 4 years. Either way, Cashman needs to get creative now that he has this $189 million cap. Don't be shocked when we let Cano walk to the Dodgers for $185-$225 million next year.

How is this a plus?

The guy is done. I dont want to hear about his contract either.

If he's the DH, the Yankees can run the white flag up the pole for real.

Because it opens up 3B for a stud like Mike Olt, A-Rod is on the team either way.

If you sign Hamilton, you better fully enjoy Cano's last season as a Yankee in 2013.

Either way, I'm preparing myself to see him in Dodger blue. He's already asking for A-Rod money.

I know. Ridiculous. No one will be getting that kind of deal again any time soon.

Someone will give him it, namely the Dodgers who are the new Yankees

lol yeah and why not just trade Mark Teixeira for Wil Myers while we are at it. The Rangers would be stupid to make that trade. If this was Granderson 3 or 4 years ago sure but he is in the last 2-4 years of his career. You don't give up one of the top 3rd base prospects in the league for a rent a player. And no I wouldn't sign Josh to a 100 mil either. He is just anther aging power hitting that we'd be over paying for down the road. This team needs to get younger.

There is no way the Rangers would do this. I live here. They like Olt a lot, are not moving him for a 1 year player who strikes out 200 times, they think they can bring back Josh, and they hate the Yankees.

The thought here is to move Olt in a package for pitching or Upton.

Dodgers TV deal is going to be insane. They will generate 225 million a year off of TV alone. I don't know why Fox is willing to pay that, no one watches baseball that much.

Rangers would never make a trade with the Yankees but I'm sure there's a 3rd base or Shortstop prospect on some team's minor league system we could swing a deal for by offering Grandy.

Bottom is going to fall out from underneath that Dodgers cash cow/bubble. Not right away but it will be in a few years.

I would also be concerned about Gardner's injury history as well...

There was talk of the Mets getting Olt for Dickey.

I read he is a Third base/First Base/Outfielder.

When that is written it makes me think that the guys is a terrible in the field.

If someone could post a scouting report on him it would be awesome.

Rangers move him around because they have Beltre. He is a good third base prospect

Gives you a good idea how much the Yankees and Mets have been making with their own TV networks. Any cries of poverty from them (Mets) is nonsense.
