Not too hard of a concept to wrap your head around. If the Jets make the playoffs, then it becomes clear that all three stooges will be retained. So might as well hope that we pull a miracle out of our ass and make a run at the bowl, no matter how farfetched it is. |

There's NO reason to delay the process. Start Geno
Smith.

Since when did Conference Championship Game appearances (that happened a couple years ago) and LOSES get tossed around like Super Bowl Championships? If losing is winning, the Jets should find a way to get Marv Levy in here IMMEDIATELY. Heck, how about Norv Turner and A.J. Smith once they're canned? Or why not Marty Schottenheimer? |

Only the Jets, Chiefs, Browns, Lions, etc of the league would consider coming in 3rd/4th place two years in a row as some sort of huge accomplishment. Regardless, that was two years ago and two years is an eternity in the NFL. This is a "what have you done for me lately" league and the Jets have been a huge disappointment two years running. |

Why don't you stop being a hypocrite and stay true to your agenda. If rooting for losses in the regular season will bring the change you want, rooting for losses in the playoffs should bring about even greater change. What better way to get your wish than a first-round elimination? Or do you just spew this root for the team to lose nonsense and have no principles whatsoever? |

Are you really that thick-headed? If Rex and Tanny end this season on a 6-10 or 7-9 record, changes are more likely to be made. What the hell is so hard to understand? |

It's just when your agenda is tested, you shrivel up and cave in. So to me, I ask a man of such hypocrisy, why not stay true to your desire for this team to fail if they manage to succeed despite your wishes? |

Understand? I don't give a f*ck what the logistics say. If you think that the Jets have a real chance to contend for a championship, then I don't know what else to say. You think this team has what it takes to walk into Denver, New England or Houston and walk away with a W? LOL Okay, care to explain as to why? Please, enlighten me. |

I guess caps lock is a clever way of trying to prove your point, did that work? I must have missed the Jets were eliminated from playoff contention today memo. I don't know if they have what it takes, but I'm damn sure willing to see if we have it. And I'll be rooting all the way up to that point if we get there. You think you have what it takes to wake up tomorrow morning and not get hit by a bus? Sure the logistics say it probably won't happen (and I hope it doesn't) but you never know, that bus could come out of nowhere. The Jets are that bus. Anything is possible. |

You know why? Because we don't have a f*cking Kurt Warner or Ben Roethlisberger on this roster. Savvy? Seriously. What the hell is so hard to understand about this concept? This is an average at best team with a mediocre at best QB with a mediocre at best HC who is too prideful to admit his own mistakes. Is that too clear for you or do I have to spell it out with crayon? |

I understand why people are hoping the Jets don't make the playoffs. I understood why last year as well.
Addition by subtraction. I just can't root against my team. If they lose I'm not gonna be jumping for joy. I guess there's a silver lining though to everything. And even if the Jets make the playoffs, I don't think Tanny stays. Anything less than an AFC Championship appearance, and Tanny is shown the door IMO. |

I find myself rooting against the Jets beforehand, but when the game kicks off, I want us to prove something. Still...it's no different than '99, '03, '05, '07, '11, '12, etc Where the hell do these useless "moral" victories get us? Nowhere Just treading water as always. |

I'm not overvaluing this team. We are average. Our QB is mediocre. Our HC is mediocre. But despite this average mediocrity, we're alive in the playoff hunt with a very plausible scenario for getting in. We don't have a Roethlisberger, we're certainly not the Greatest Show on Turf. But we have a chance. I will be rooting like hell for that chance. Now if our next three opponents were the 85 Bears, 2000 Ravens, and the 16-0 Patriots, I'd be the first to say alright boys, pack it in. But the fact is we have three sub par opponents, that despite being sub par ourselves, we can beat. Can we lose any of the three? Absolutely. Maybe all three. But I'm rooting like hell for them to win every single one. So what happens if we win all three, the other teams lose the games they have to lose, and we get in? Guess what? I'm still rooting like hell for them. I'm not saying they're suddenly going to flip this switch and smoke the Patriots or Broncos in the first round, chances are they won't. Chances are we'll be a quick first round exit. But chance is simply that... chance. I'll take the opportunity to shock the world, or more specifically, shock their own fan base, any day of the week. You know who automatically loses? The guys that never play in the first round. The guys that sit at home and root for their own team to lose because in their twisted logic, that's going to improve the team. Never once thinking to themselves that, if we do by some miracle make the playoffs and lose in the first round, or if we do finish at 8-8 or 9-7, that these turn of events won't inspire the team to improve themselves going into next year. Rex Ryan is a competitor. Woody Johnson is a competitor. They will improve this team no matter what the result of this season is. So why not root for the best possible result that this season could have? Playoff football. Good day sir. |

I root my ass off for them. But am I going to delude myself into thinking that we have a legitimate shot at the Superbowl? F*ck no. And you know why? Because our HC is a clueless jackass who likes to play his personal favorites and highest paid on the roster instead of the players who give us the best chance to win football games. Gee, what a novel concept.

That's a good post, with what I would call a respectable position to take on the winning... But that's not the problem. Our problem is - THIS TEAM HAS NO CEILING. We got no upside. In order to get this team where it needs to be - we need to the pull the fcking rug out man. I'm not a sensationalist, I'm just being honest. We need to exorcize our demons - completely - in order to reboot this thing. Winning a bunch of sh*tty games and masking the bigger issues is a fcking nightmare. We need to die the true death in order to be reborn. |

^ Sorry, Paradis but the Jets are so incompetent, they'll never die a "true death" because they'll always find a way to fuk that up.....
