You get cut first and THEN you go through waivers. Don't think he cleared waivers yet. I assume the Jets opened up the roster spot because they knew he would clear waivers and are currently finalizing a deal with him.

I think one major factor people forget is how productive Braylon was with run blocking. So it makes sense from that prospective as well as a thin WR corp. No brainer to me..

Braylon on one leg is better than Khalil Bell whose only actual contribution in his Jet "career" was to fumble away a short pass completion from Greg McElroy and allow the Cardinals to kick a field goal and get within one point of the lead

No he had already been on waiver on the 4th. You get cut after you clear. On waiver a team can take the current contract if he gets cut they have to sign a new one. In this case if they wanted him they would have claimed him. The only thing they'd have to give up is a roster spot.

right - the waivers process is over at 4 pm est. If a team or teams claim him in that process they will sign him after 4 pm according to the waivers order. If no team claims him , then any team can approach him over the next days and weeks.

He will be replacing Hill and even if BE is not the same player he once was, he is surely an upgrade over Hill at this stage of Hill's career. And there is zero question he is better than Chaz
