Who would want to be our backup QB?

After players see how we treated Drew Stanton and Tim Tebow, who is going to want to come to the Jets next year to backup Sanchez?

Both these players were lured by the "you'll be able to compete for the starting job" line. How much weight will those words carry now? And will it diminish our ability to draw a viable backup?

To get a back-up will not be a problem. To get a guy that wants to compete for a starting job, somewhat. As he already has to beat out Tebow.

you really should stick to your pats

Tebow will be traded for a pick to Jacksonville or cut shortly after the end of the season.

Gmac and Sanchez will have a fair competition to determine the starter

a mid round developmental QB pick will be the number 3

the good part is that ALL THREE are better than Ryan "Leaf" Mullet who will be the Pats starter in 2014 when Brady retires with Jizabella to his luxury bathhouse in California

You cannot answer this until we know who the GM and coach is going to be. I believe we are doing a full house cleaning and Tanny and Rex will be gone. In that case, I think a draft pick and a guy like Matt Moore comes in and gets a fair shot to win the job and compete against Big Mac and sanchez..

If Rex is still around, there will be no fair shot as Sanchez will get the job. Rex might say there is an open competetion, but the job will be handed to sanchez.

Mother of God, this.

I'm no fan of Tebow, but he'd be worlds better than Intchez. At the very least he wouldn't turn it over the way lolchez is.

Tebow may well be cut, but as of now he is on the team. And please tell me why Khan will trade for him after the jets ruined any value that he may have had.

I agree that a mid rd pick will probably be brought in, but that is not what the OP asked.

Brady's replacement is still in high school.

There's NO reason to delay the process. Start Geno Smith.

Hopefully our back-up in 2013 will be Mark Sanchez. Hopefully the Jets will attract a polished veteran by promising him every opportunity to beat out Sanchez for the job (announce it to the media, too). Someone like Matt Moore would be ideal.

Oh, I thought it was laying in a cow pasture in Pennsylvania.

Career passer rating of 80.5 compared to Sanchez' 72.9. Woot-woot.

LOL a fair competition? No friggin way. The jets have shown no desire to ever have any competition under any circumstance. They deactivated the guy the week after he lead the only td drive for the team.

Sanchez will be the starter next year once again with no viable backup.

Not if Rex is gone. That is why we all need to be praying daily that Woody sees through this buffoon and he cans him in 3 weeks.

Starting McElroy would be the death knell for Mike Tannenbaum's career with the Jets and frankly for his career as a GM anywhere in the league.

He has 3 games left in his current role as gm of the jets. Hopefully.

the only change i really see for next year at QB would be Tebow and Im not really sure that will happen.

I think there is a good chance we have the same 3 guys as last year.

Personally I would like to see Tebow move on.

Sanchez and McElroy can compete and maybe draft a guy in the mid rounds.

This team is in cap hell.

The best thing Mark Sanchez's career can grant us is a 1-15 season next year and a shot at Johnny Manziel or JaDaveon Clowney in next year's draft.

And anybody who think Woody is going to dump his Tebow is out of their mind.

Didn't you see this interview of Woody regarding Tebow?

The only scenario that tebow is back here is if we make him the starter, create an option offense he is comfortable in, and give him the full offseason as starting qb.

If that is not the plan(which it probably is not) he will not be back here.
