Did you realize
The Jets secondary has not allowed a 100 yard receiving game this season? The Jets defense has something to be happy about.

The Jets secondary hasn't been perfect, but it's been pretty dang good. Football outsiders ranked NYJ as the 6th best pass defense going into week 15 (19th best run defense, 8th best defense overall). Again, this is per-play and situationally graded, so it factors in importance and strength of opponent in a myriad of ways. Guys like Wilson and Lanskter (and Trufact earlier) have stepped up in Revis's absence. The additions of Landry and Bell have paid immediate dividends.

Another fun fact that I saw recently was that David Harris has more sacks then any other MLB in the league over the last few seasons. I dont remember the exact number of seasons though.
Might have been since his career started. Interesting especially with some many people being down on him lately |

now imagine a healthy revis and pass rusher and we would finally have a shut down defense.

Nah, people would rather goof on Rex and claim he's a horrible coach.
Or make up some bull**** about this team not playing any good receivers. Or give all of the credit to the team's corners, and nothing to Rex and the coaches. |

Or, that teams have had pretty good success running the ball on the Jets, and that has helped keep the receiving yards down. Overall though the Jets secondary has played well, the loss of Revis was not catastrophic and the Jets showed they can be competitive without him.

Rex is clearly a great defensive coach. The team could be a fantastic defense rather than just a very good one if we had one true pass rusher on the team that was being let loose.

If you're averaging 5 yards a clip running the ball, there's not much need to throw it. |

The Jets are the 6th ranked pass defense by DVOA (footballoutsiders.com). This stat is not a volume based one, so teams passing less has nothing to do with it. It means that when a team chooses to pass EVER, it has a low rate of success against us.
