anyone who says he just always sucked isn't being honest.
there were plenty of flashes in the beginning, especially in 2010 with a few come from behind wins, and especially the playoff runs (6 games - 60% completion 9TD 3INT 94 passer rating). he was very inconsistent the first 2 years. but always showed potential. then year 3 he leveled off, and got worse at the end of the season. and this year looks like complete garbage. he definitely got worse. i think he is just a completely overwhelmed and just isn't that smart. he has a lot of the physical tools. but once things starting going bad, he couldn't bounce back. and lost everything. |

no one is saying he was amazing. but people in this thread are saying he's been as bad he has been this season all 4 years. i'm just saying he was better in year 2 than he is now. he's terrible now.

Sanchez had ugly play his 1st year he just road a very talented team. The fact that we have had thin drafts the last 5 years or so has just thinned out that talent. Edwards is right he is still the same QB he was 2 years ago. That is the problem. Shotty hid some of his lack of talent and when we actually asked him to make plays he just couldn't.

Fakes handoff to nobody, turns, runs into RG's a$s and flips ball into the air before defense can lay a finger on him. 6 pts Patriots.
I don't even care why anymore. We're way past pointing fingers or hoping for improvement. So GTFOff the team Sanchez. And take Rex Ryan and the rest of the brain trust with you. |

He's simply making more mistakes now because he's being asked to do more. The Jets staff did NOT ruin him, Tebow didn't ruin him ...He's just NOT good, never was going to be good... |

I agree he has regressed, but that doesn't mean he was good in year 2. He flashed at very opportune times, which inflated his status among fans and gave the illusion that he would continue to develop into a good quarterback.
The flashes have disappeared as the team around him has become weaker. He can't elevate his own play or the play of others around him. We're left with an inaccurate turnover machine who doesn't see the field well. He went from being completely inconsistent to consistently bad. |

sanchez was ok with a great supporting offensive cast, esp. a great o-line. as the talent around him disappeared, we see what he's able to do to make up the difference. there's just too many forced throws, too many fumbles, too many sacks taken, too many throws off target and too many 3 and outs. against tennessee, sanchez was under a rush and tried to dump it off to greene, who was open about 6 yards away. sanchez threw it way over his head. gruden said that's a pass you have to make. he's right. that's a basic throw. you're under a rush, you dump it off to an open rb. sanchez can't make those throws. |

Anyway watch that Greene play again. He jumped a lot higher than he needed to and actually made a decent throw look bad. Check it out, his hands were above the point of contact with the ball. he needs to be replaced or at least have someone in there that can catch on passing downs. |

Maybe the coaching staff screwed him up or maybe Sanchez was just never that good to begin with. Who gives a sh*t? The bottom line is that the kid is terrible and we need to move on. |

I distinctly remember Rex more or less saying, okay we're going to throw this year, no more ground & pound. And then a few weeks later he said, we're going back to the ground and pound. You need to crawl before you can walk. And walk before you run. They asked Sanchez to go from crawling to running. It wasn't smooth whatsoever. |
