Is Norv Interested in the JETS ?

Norv Turner, the embattled Chargers coach, left the door open to taking an offensive coordinator position with another team if he is fired by San Diego (5-9) after the season. “People that know me, know I’m a coach,” Turner said. “I like to coach. I’d love to continue to coach, no question.”

Turner, 60, also said he has a solid relationship with Ryan, who may be in the market for a coordinator if Tony Sparano is fired. “I think Rex knows the respect I have for him,” Turner said.

It sure sounds like he is interested....

Having rex and norv would be a dream team of coordinators if only we had a capable head coach between them.

Rex must go - he's not HC material, the same way Norv is not HC material.

They will the two hottest coordinator prospects on the market a week after the season.

If Norv is 60 then he needs to show results immediately

At 60 he does not have a whole lot of years left to coach. With the exception of Tom Coughlin, coaching does not favor the senior citizen. So to show the best Offensive results soonest, you need a team with offensive talent. The Jets do not have that and Rex wants defense for his top draft picks. Norv is going to go with a team that has that foundation of offensive talent. Peyton did and he never returned the Jets calls to get him as QB because our lack of talent in all of our skill positions on offense.

Rex is not a good HC because he know ZERO about how to run an offense. Hell yeah bring in Norv Turner and Rex won't have to even look at the offense. That side will be taken care of completely by Norv. Rex will take care of the D.

Here's what needs to happen:

1) Demote/Fire Tanny
2) Fire Sparano
3) Hire Norv
4) Let Norv make all other decisions on offense (who to start, who to bench, who to hire/fire as assistant coaches).

That about covers it except for the GM replacement. We need a football guy to come in and have final say over the draft and contracts.

Yeah, didn't know who to bring in as GM or who would even want the job. What is certain is that Tanny has to go. At least Norv sounds interested in an OC position.

Turner would be a nice addition.

Well the Jets are an option for Norv, but so are the Ravens. Lets see, they have a better QB, elite RB, more developed WRs. What we have is a comparable OL. The Ravens are a perrenial play of team and we are blocked from winning the division for the foreseeable future.

I think Norv has some tough decisions ahead.

Pretty sure you can't talk to Norv while he's still the HC of the Chargers. He hasn't been fired yet.

And where exactly is Cam Cameron going?

He was the Ravens O-Coordinator last time I checked, is he going somewhere?

That's great news

I assumed Norv wouldn't be interested because of Rex's comments last year.

But maybe the two are close and it was just a little playful ribbing on Rex's behalf.

Yeah, it was a bit of a surprise they fired him in the middle of a division/playoff run.

Says they promoted their QB coach Jim Caldwell to O-Coordinator, that will keep Flacco pretty happy I would imagine, I don't know much about the guy though.
