Jets' firing of OC Sparano 'imminent'

Roto:

Quote:
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports that the Jets' firing of offensive coordinator Tony Sparano is "imminent."

Sparano has been fileted on ESPN and elsewhere for the offense he fielded in 2012, which saw Mark Sanchez take yet another step back in his career. Per La Canfora, GM Mike Tannenbaum is Sparano's biggest supporter inside the Jets' organization, and Tannenbaum may very well be fired as well. Per La Canfora, as many as a half-dozen head coaches will be let go on "Black Monday," the Monday following Week 17. And that doesn't even begin to include coordinator firings.

This would be good. His hiring made me happy because it wasn't Schotty, but that died in a horrible fiery crash.

Wait, I thought Sparano's biggest supporter is Rex?

He's the one that wanted Tony

I don't think so. It can't be a good sign for him that Tannenbaum and Sparano are planning to be fired with still a week remaining in the season.

I don't care if he gets fired but in all fairness he's had nothing to work with. Poor QB play and the worst collection of skill players in the entire league. Im also not sure that Rex should get a 3rd OC in 5 years

Kick Shades out the door immediately.

If the firing is "imminent", then why even wait until after the Bills game?

Why, out of respect?

This dick has done nothing to deserve even an ounce of respect.

And Tannenbaum is his biggest supporter? Just goes to show how inept Tanny truly is.

You know what? Keep Rex as HC.

I'd love to see what he could do with a guy like Polian making the personell decisions and someone like Norv Turner running the show on offense.

Sounds good to me, they may have already had talks with Norv while he was in town over the weekend.

Still have not heard Rex's name brought up in any of these firings. Looks like he may still get another year, I hope so.

Too much smoke today on the GM and Coaching Staff front to not anticipate some major, major changes.

If TS biggest supporter is Tanny, and Tanny is firing him, that's a pretty good indication Tanny knows he's likely on the chopping block as well, and is making a last ditch attempt to save himself.

I'm guessing Woody will leave Rex's fate to whoever the new GM is, so it may be awhile before we hear anything on him.

of all these guys, rex may be the only one who actually deserves another shot. he's won a good number of games with the worst qb in the nfl. if nothing else, he's proven he can win games. if you give him even a decent game manager, rex will be in the playoff hunt every year. no coach can win with a turnover machine.

Based on the speculation about Mike getting demoted this must be Woody's play. The dominoes are starting to fall..
