Ken was a good Qb like mentioned, he didn't have a good line but he did have weapons. However he was a bad pick just because we could've have Marino.

Double didgt sacks in one game and somehow it is McElroys fault? Lets look at our o-line 2 first round draft picks and they still suck. No running game and they cant pass block. What a frigging joke of a team. Time for London for the Yets!

Braylon Edwards is a sight for sore eyes after watching this mess of an offense.

True that. O'Brien had a freakin cannon for an arm. Every game it seemed you were guaranteed a 50-60 yard shot down the field, and the ball shot out like a rocket. Man, could he throw. He did hold the ball too long, but when he threw it he hit the mark. Very low int rate.

????? Kenny O'Brien had a cannon for an arm, he could throw a football close to 90 yards in the air, I don't know if McElroy could hit 50.

Was a shame that he had no OLine and that he didn't have that 6th sense about feeling the rush and sliding like Marino (who wasn't any faster than O'Brien), his release was also much slower than Marino (who came as close to Namath as anyone.

But there was no mistaking that Kenny O was a starting QB in the NFL, even with his faults...McElroy is NOT...nor is Sanchez...nor is Tebow..unreal 3 QBs on a NY roster you can say that about...disgrace.

As bad has Sanchez has played he is a better QB then Mclelroy I'm sure Tebow is as well. the Jets need to look elsewhere for a new QB

Looks like G Mac can take a hit just like Kenny could. He also seems like Kenny as he takes far more hits than necessary due to not getting rid of the ball when no one is open. Comparison ends there. From a sheer accuracy standpoint, Kenny O was one of the best Jet QBs ever.

Ken O'Brien is still hearing footsteps...

If he was on the Jets today, I have no doubt we'd be in the playoffs. He had uncanny accuracy in his throws, when he had time to set & throw. The Jets had other issues back then. Quarterback play wasn't one of them.

From Wikipedia-
Only one quarterback has accomplished a perfect passer rating with more than 400 passing yards. Ken O'Brien threw for 431 yards on November 2, 1986...

It shows, look at all the playoff games he won.

Kenny is the only Jet QB in history that has no rushing TD's.. Namath could hardly walk and had 7.. Kenny had 2 good years 85 and 86..

McElroy was sacked 11 TIMES and still completed almost 60% of his passes...

Show me any quarterback at any time in the NFL who would have done any better than that? Get off the kids case, he was thrown into a really bad situation the other day. You can't say anything about his QB skills other than he can take a massive amount of hits and still manage to get the ball to his receivers. Sanchez or Pennington would have faired much much worse.

Thank you

These guys are deluded and flat our wrong. Kenny O went toe to toe with the likes of Dan Marino several times, even coming out on top many of those games.

Kenny deserved it in 1985 however in 1991 he had 10 tds and 11 picks on a 8-8 Jet team that lost to the then Houston Oilers 17-10.. That's why the Pro Bowl selection is at times faulty..
