Percentage based tipping is for people not smart enough to have the sense to tip what is deserved given the circumstance... You were too lazy to drive a couple of blocks... You shouldn't take it out on the delivery guy because you're lazy...

Now I'm cheap too but you know he isn't getting time and a half. Most delivery people basically work for tips. They get enough from where they work to cover taxes most of the time. It is a holiday. Normally yeah 3 buck is a good tip lets just call 8 holiday pay and let it be. Tomorrow do Chinese takeout. For them this isn't a holiday. It is there busy time of the year.

Nah, it's all good, because when I was talking to the dude on the phone, I ended the convo by saying "Thanks, man" so he knows I'm cool with him, and probably vice versa...

If you say so chooch. Don't order from any one place enough to be remembered for my standard-level tip. ![]() http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/tipping/ Mike Lynn, associate professor of consumer behavior at the Cornell Hotel School suggests tipping pizza delivery folk a minimum of $2 per pizza. His reasoning: Food delivery can be dangerous if delivering to crime-ridden neighborhoods or driving in bad weather, etc. The Web site www.tipthepizzaguy.com suggests the following: 15% for normal service, with a $2 minimum; 20% for excellent service; 10% or less for poor service; at least 10% for orders of $50 or more. Don't assume a delivery charge, if there is one, goes to the pizza deliverer. Ask the person who takes your order. |

Alright, now we're getting to the bottom of this, as per the tipthepizzaguy that Brady is a catcher posted
WHEN NOT TO TIP: The driver doesn't have change Suppose your bill comes to $21.65. All you have is $30 and want to tip $3, but the driver doesn't have $5. Your remaining options are to write a check or send the driver back to the store for change. It is extremely unusual for a driver not to carry enough change. This qualifies as bad service, enough that you can withhold the tip. Drivers always carry enough change. This does not apply if the customer wants to pay with a $50 or $100 bill. The driver only carries $20 to make change. We don't carry large amounts of cash for safety reasons. This does not apply if the driver has no coins. Drivers aren't expected to carry coins because they are too petty compared to the tip. I should be given a medal based on this, instead of being ridiculed by you ppl |

I used to have in laws that were percentage tippers and the type of people with the "customer is always right" attitude. On 3 occasions, I got up and walked out while at restaurants with them. Don't want my food "mishandled". Sent from a phone using an app |

When you go and do plumbing at somebody's house, how much of a tip do you expect? |

Usually 15 to 20%. Maybe more if me and the GG are tipsy and they're entertaining ![]() And tips for plumbing? the poorer the homeowner the better the tip. I never expect anything. But guess what calls I'd answer first on a holiday weekend? ![]() Sent from a phone using an app |

What about all the crappy jobs that don't produce tips? Tip them too, or just tip these guys more? Selective socialism where only workers transporting hot food are worthy.
