Jets should go all in on Sean Payton

Money talks. Make it happen Woody!

That would be nice. But a head coach coming off a year long suspension for breaking the rules is not what the Jets need. The media would kill them for "headline hunting" again, even though it is Payton, a coach with lots of success

No impulsive hiring please

1. Fire Tannenbaum and Sparano

2. Hire a Director of Football Operations.

3. Direct him to evaluate the entire team...coaches scouts et al and determine who should stay and who should go

He had a QB Rex didn't. I'm not sure he is is that much better if at all than Rex. He still has to answer for the bounty gate though. The NY media would have a field day on the Jets once again.

How many Coaches in NFL History have won two Super Bowls with two different NFL Franchises?

Irrelevant. The sample size is small, and past performance does not guarantee future results.

You can coach the team with Drew Brees or you can coach the team with Mark Sanchez. This is not a hard decision. If Payton even considered leaving NO, his only other team would be Dallas

So Sean Paytons past performence does not guarantee future results?

Can we take into account that he's had an elite QB in his one season of large success, an asset we currently do not and have not possessed.

Are you on the SAR "give them 10% of ownership" aquisition-plan too?

1. No coach has EVER won a super bowl with 2 different teams.

2. There is no Brees on the Jets

3. He's not leaving New Orleans. No reason to.

Yes, but it's worth the risk.

One season of large success? He has a very long track record of success in the NFL at multiple levels.

In my opinion, there is no better coach to direct the rebuild of an NFL team in this era of football. The Jets find themselves in a prime opportunity to change the future of this franchise. Open up the pocket book and make him an offer he can't refuse.

This.

SAR and Bellichek. You and Peyton. Others and Tuna.

Can we please, for the love of God, get real?

Most likely you are correct, but it's not impossible. At the end of the day, he may decide a clean start (post bountygate) serves him best, and if Woody goes all in, he may just get convinced.

Unless he brings Brees with him pass. Brees is that team. Put him on the JETS we make a SB too.

whatever. look at how well swartz was doing in detroit until this season and he has a qb. the only team that really shows any long term staying power are the patsies and that's because they have a qb who leads on the field and a head coach who knows how to motivate.

the jets, if they choose to dump ryan, need to find someone who wants the job and can guarantee success. not sure peyton is a guarantee. maybe cowher if he still has the fire. maybe gruden for the same reason. but what they need most is a front office that can make responsible football decisions.

We need to fire Tannenbaum and thenhire a Football Executive with a brain FIRST.

And then let HIM for HER determine who will be the head coach and coaching staff and the front office for the future

There is absolutely no reason why we can't hire Payton first and the GM afterward. Let Payton be the brain and bring in his guys to execute his vision.

The only way we are going to lure him from NO and Dallas is by giving him complete control anyway.

The Jets will not out-bid Dallas for Payton, nor will he get more power than he will with Dallas.

Bree's was never elite until he linked up with Payton in NO. You can argue it either way. There is no denying Payton is a great offensive mind and a great head coach..but there's no chance he's coming here so it's irelevent.
