The first year if the Colts dont pull Manning the jets lose the game and miss the playoffs. Both season the jets backed in from other team miscues.I wish Manning never got pulled.

The Jet's have had 4 HC changes since Belli quit (after one day on the job), and 3 of them have been since woody bought the team. The Jets have had a different OC in each of the past 3 seasons. The Jets have had at least 3 different QB's in ten years.

It's not so much the management staff and the player turnover seemingly year after year, it's the hiring of incompetent people, realizing your mistake, firing them, and then replacing them with another incompetent person.

It's really pathetic how poorly run this organization really is if you actually stop and rationally look at it. You look at the Pats--- ten years, same HC, same QB. The Giants, same HC, same GM for ten years. And on and on it goes. Even when those teams do make changes (an coordinator, a QB etc) it's never a step backwards. It's never firing an incompetent coach or player and then hiring an incompetent person to replace him.

Never.

The Jets? Almost all the time.

Second to last game of 2009.

We were 11-5 in 2010 after starting 9-2. But we won @ Buffalo in the last game.

We never "backed in" in either year. But in 2009 we got some amazing gifts.

Rex Ryan is exactly in the same position as Herman Edwards was when he left for Kansas City. Rex Has 2 yrs left on his contract but in all reality, it might as well be 1. If he's going to stay after this season, the Jets have to atleast make the playoffs next season . The Jets had a bad team this yr with no QB, and it's going to be worst going into the 3013 season after all the cuts and the freeagents who the team will be unlikely to resign .

Herm was in the same situation. He had no QB, with Pennington coming back from injury, the Ol was in shambles and the OC had just been hired the yr before. Herm asked for an extension of his contract because he didn't want to go into the season as a lame duck. The Jets refused and Herm basically forced the Jets to trade him to the Chiefs who had made it known that they had an interest.

Where is your bravado now Rex. Force Woody to either extend u or release u from your dead man walking status.

IMHO, this Fraud don't make it to the start of free agency.

Woody needs to put him out of his misery. Next year will be brutal for Rex. You are basically asking him to coach for his job with a roster/cap situation that leaves little room for improvement.

Just cut bait and do a proper rebuild.
While I agree with this, what quality coach is going to want to step into this disaster? The new GM might have a better shot of getting a quality hire after slicing and dicing the roster over the next year.

Rex may get the job of coaching a depleted team taking cap hits, headed to the top of the draft board, with a chance to rebuild or completely destroy his image.

Coughlin stayed when a new NYG GM arrived, with less success than RR but Ryan should / must go and is a "lame duck" In the exact same situation

Dave Diehl drives drunk smashing into vehicles, there is at least one disgruntled NYG player a year and yet NYJ has all the problem children

As much as Sanchez struggled its obvious the other 2 sucked worse and deserved to be sidelined, with Ryan keeping his opinion private...yet he has a vendetta against them

Etc.
Another home run.

Don't u know? We backed into 4 playoff wins under Rex too? Eric Mangini was a better HC. Such a great talent evaluator Mangini was he traded John Abraham and drafted Vernon Gholston and drafted Kellen Clemens and Anthony Schlegel over umpteen better players in a great 2006 draft.

That's because Herm never made back to back AFC champ games with a rookie qb who started less than a full year in college. Nor did he have a top defense consistently or top anything for that matter.

Well whatever the media is doing, it's working, because everyone is reading the article they wrote as a result.

Hate the NY media? Don't post links to their articles and give them pageviews.

I pretty sure the only one above that Rx is free and clear of is the Sanchez extension.

It's been reported that Rex was the driving force for the Tebow trade.

As far as the OL, Rex had Hunter starting over Howard. How the hell was that even remotely possible? I know Rex doesn't claim to be an expert offensively, but was our pass rush THAT bad that they couldn't expose Hunter the way EVERY defense we played?

Now this morning the Post is asking Rex to "open up" about the season and plans for next seasons ? Come on, Rex isn't about to say anything until a new GM gets here and they have their initial sit down. Sure Ryan can talk about last season and the who and why's but until a new GM gets here and they map out a strategy for Ryan to say anything now would be paramount to slapping the GM before he got here. The post makes good paper for kitty litter

Great post...no pun intended

Hopefully Rex spends some valuable off season time with media advisors and watching tape of Belichick and Torterella press conferences and in 2013 follows the format of giving the NY media one word answers...little or no info and treats these dirtbags with the lavk of respect and dignity they have clearly earned.

This should include no weekly radio with Yankeeshill and Giantshill on espn radio and required pressers and postgames that last 90 seconds and offer nothing.

Let the jackals make up stories without any assistance

So basically the Broncos backed in this year as #1 seed because of other teams miscues?

LOL I love SOJF!
