I think of this guy and I think of another moment in Jets history of "what could have been"..

Up there with drafting Al Toon over Jerry Rice.

Ken O'Brien over Dan Marino..

failing to trade up to get Brett Favre and settling with the beyond fabulous Browing Nagle!!

And Holmgren turning us down to take over the team and we put the team in the hands of Bruce Coslet!!

Ah, memories!!!

Agree with all of these except the Al Toon bash. He was one of the most talented receivers I've ever seen. If Jerry Rice was in NY he would have gotten too many concussions and retired too, with the way O'Brien led him over the middle.

Holmgren did such a great job with Cleveland, it makes sense the Jets would be interested in him

I also remember stories about the Jets getting very nice offers 1990 for their second pick which they couldn't imagine a future without Blair Thomas..

I mean Emmitt Smith sucked right??

He would have been the next logical choice..
