I've tried to stay away from the obvious legends. But I must say, Kieth Richards really is great. He was the engine behind the Rolling Stones and they crafted a sound that hadn't existed yet. That's just nasty.

I'm also not sure what the obsession is with Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam. He's not that good. Get over it.

One of the most unique songwriters ever to come along. Really, could anyone else have written "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner"?

Growing up in the eighties looking back I used to think that too, but now I realize how much endless variety was available not like 1990 to the present.

No mention of Townsend; just now we finally get to Chuck Berry. Why do I have to keep an eye on you guys?

That's the answer I'd like to give to that.

I thought I was the only one that liked Roy Wood's Wizzard. Nice.

How'd we miss BWil? His greatness is not attached to an "ego based" icon like dylan; his icon is Venice Beach.

Four-O-Nine!

Up Up And Away...Jimmy Webb brought the Major7 chord to country music. Talk about cold fusion; the Gran Ol Opry nearly collapsed.

"Is that a jazz chord, Cleetus? Why, they must have brought that from Julliard! City slickers!"

Please see my first posting which includes Pete's inclusion.

I mentioned Chuck in another thread and was met with a "shaking cane" reference. Did not want to repeat the experience and foster more boredom. I think anyone who has read my posts over the years knows that I consider Berry the gold standard of rock songwriters and performers. Every rock riff is derivative of his early work.
